Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Another weekend

another international break

followed by another away game.

Meanwhile the TH Stadium will be hosting 2 NFL games, having +120,000 people pass through the gates and making millions while everyone else is turning the lights off and the heating down in theirs to keep costs down

Anyone going to watch the American throwball match? NFL. Not Football, Literally!

So who paid the Tottenham Stadium loan last season when there were no fans and no big ticket events?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We took a Covid loan from the bank of the England for £192m then in May this year the club raised £250m through the sale of US private placements to institutional investors(I have no idea what this means) to pay off the loan and help the club with other operational costs. Not a penny of either loan is allowed for transfers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
£442m of additional funds that will need to be paid back effectively. Though the private placement may have a possibility for equity swap if Enic want to give up any.

Dunno what Striketeams problem is, it was a perfectly ordinary question.
So circa 6-7 years of the non footballing revenue to pay those loans off depending on the burden of interest / investment return promised.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No the £250m raised was to pay off the £192m loan and to cover over operational cost.

Ok so circa 3 years of non football revenue to pay that off plus whatever return.

The stadium plus covid issues will hamstring spurs for a couple of years for sure.
Which is why you got Nuno on the cheap.

No, we got Nuno on the cheap cos nobody else wanted to come to us so we basically hired him as a year long interim

Shame it will be going into the owners pockets and not the team
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You keep bleating about this but cannot back it up with any facts whatsoever.

You really think we will earn 10s of millions more and the owners will pocket it
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You are deluded if you think Levy and Lewis won`t be trousering huge profits first, before creating a winning team. The balance sheet will always be king.

The team will be secondary, as always, there will be more money to spend, but it still won`t be enough to compete with City, Chelsea, United and Newcastle.

ENIC will not change, it will continue to be balance sheet first, football team second, while the increase in revenue will be good, it will not elevate the football operation to the top of league consistently.

ENIC are basically property and business developers, they are here to make money and increase the value of their investment, they do not give two shietes about silverware, which is something most Levyista`s fail to grasp.

You really need to engage your brain on this issue.

Spurs are a business, the owners aren't running some back street operation where they get paid cash and "trouser the profits". It all goes through the books and if you examine them the only money the onwers have taken out of the club is the repayment of the £40m loan they made to the during the stadium funding.

I give you that they do not put their own money in, it is all generated by the club or through commercial loans - but this is what your beef boils down to. A lack of understanding of how the financial side works and a desire that we act like the Oil clubs, who you are actually quite critical of, who are able to spend without limit. You expect us to compete with City Chelsea & Utd and I am at a total loss of how you think this is a fair comparison/benchmark. Does it really need explaining to you?

Whatever Enic and Levy may/may not do, they’ve got the stadium bang on.

The covid situation was really bad luck to be honest, well bad situation control from the government first off.

Surely if they get such large decisions correct then they’ll learn from it.

Imagine if you had gotten the Olympic stadium? At least levy learnt from that.

Not to mention the fact that United's owners bought the club, then borrowed money to fund it secured against the future revenues so they are paying similar size loan repayments and have nothing to show for it other than the ownership of the Glazers.

The games moved on though, that’s the issue. The stadium can no longer bridge the financial gap to City, Chelsea and now the Geordies. It’s not an albatross around our neck in anyway, it’s just the additional transfer spend still won’t be enough to compete - not sure what the club can do to be honest other than hoping that there is a mega billionaire out there who grew up on Chas n Dave

Have to play em at their own game

For instance, we would never be where we are had we not absolutely rinsed Barca for £140m when they wanted Coutinho.
