Newcastle’s new manager

If you won the lottery you wouldn’t keep driving around a Fiat Punto unless you were some kind of masochist. Hence why I feel Steve Bruce’s time at the club from this point onwards is going to be more short lived than the classic 90s soap opera ‘Eldorado’.

The owners will be giving him the chop (the Sun newspaper will obviously be stealing that pun so be prepared). Who will be the guy the owners go to to speed up their pursuit of the big prizes?

For me these 5 are the top picks…

Antonio Conte ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Zinedine Zidane ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Roberto Mancini ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Brendan Rodgers ⭐️⭐️
Alan Shearer ⭐️

Which one will it be and how long before they’re a bona fide top 4 contender?

Rumours are Cavani might be the first Newcastle signing.

I’m sure by the end of Jan they’ll have a top manager and £100 million spent in the window to make sure they stay up and then the following window they’ll start making waves

If they are serious and want to plan for the long haul then someone like rodgers would be a shout. Already in the league and if hes promised a warchest im sure hed take on the challenge

Managers will come and go. The most crucial appointment at Newcastle right now would be a decent Chief Exec. Preferably one poached from one of the "big" clubs.

Abramovich knew this. Which is why he was able to hit the ground running with Peter Kenyon. And City didn't really get the juggernaut going until they brought in the guys from Barcelona.

Ed Woodward will be out of work soon.

Id agree I think this will take a lot longer than it took city. As you say they are coming from a much weaker position than city were. City werent great but had still spent a fair bit under thaskin sinawatra if I remember correctly. Newcastle are coming from a position of having 1 of the worst squads in the league.

Throw in fair play rules, and also the fact that now there are so many other big sides ahead of them I reckon ot will take some time here.

When roman arrived he only had to topple arsenal and utd. For city it was them plus us and youd say spurs. Newcastle have to get ahead of all of them. That means buying players ahead of all these teams. They can throw all the money they want at thing but the very best are not going to go to newcastle right off the bat. They will still choose to big established sides.

Im not saying newcastle wont get there, money talks so it will come eventually but I do think it will take 6 or 7 years yet before they are troubling the very top sides.

It’ll be good to see ASM surrounded by top players instead of Almiron and Longstaff

Ed Woodward and Mourinho at Newcastle is the dream. They both risk execution.

Tbf Jose is working his magic turning Tammy Welbeck into a world class striker. Rome > Newcastle

Hasn’t he only scored twice in the league? Newcastle have a better cf.
