Question about loyalty

You all know how I feel about ole and I have tried so hard to not say anything in recent weeks. I use this forum to get opinions and feedback on thoghts that have not fully crystallised. I never read match threads but was on it today because I literally could not bring myself to watch the game (don't judge me).

Wayne raised a point about utd losing so we can see the back of a manager who he believes is holding us back. While I understand this is not a popular opinion, I cannot understand why it is so wrong. Short term loss in hopes of greater gains. Apply this logic to any other aspect of life and most will applaud you. Why is it seen as such a traitorous opinion among (utd) fans?

ps: I am not afraid to use the delete button, so anyone thinking of flooding the comments to hush a conversation will be promptly deleted

I’d never WANT United to lose just so a manager gets sacked. What you WANT as a supporter is for the current manager and set of players to turn it around, but if they can and the inevitable happens then so be it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
100% agree with this and I feel every utd fan be it ole out or ole in would rather the team turn it around

the difference is some like me do not let baseless hope get in the way of clear evidence of the contrary
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was speaking generally really, sitting there hoping your team loses apposed to hoping they win games and perform well is a bit odd.

Will the club sack Ole any time soon? If not, hoping we lose every game until it happens is a bit weird to me.

Surely the hope is that we win games?

I know I said I did not watch most of the game but I did not realise the score was 4-2. Not that it changes anything but wow

Bad defending and lack of concentration for two late goals

Our match going stretford end sitting fanbase is toxic af. They enable mediocrity and have false notion of what support means.
I hope we lose our next 2 games so he is sacked. We would still be in the race for top 4 and CL if we win our next 2 games but with a new manager.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's a very strange thing to say. You're putting the blame for a bad string of results on people who sit in The Stretford End by saying they're toxic for not being toxic?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
99% of our regular Stretford match goers are toxic like anything and the mediocrity that runs in out club is because of those 10k or so rotten fans.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This might be the most childish comment you've ever made, and it's up against some stiff competition.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not. Wake and smell the coffee. Those 10k or so rotten Stretford enders inculcate this toxic behavior amongst the rest of our fans that a manager should be supported no matter what and we shouldn't expect trophies every season. I hope they are all replaced some newer fans.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think I understand the point you're trying to make, even if I don't agree with it.

I'm baffled why you're singling out the Stret as being toxic though. What part of the ground do you sit in, and does that behave differently?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because the Stretford benders are the most vocal and they are still singing Ole at the wheel when they should be leading the Ole Out charge. Stretford enders disgust me. There is not a bunch of deluded blind idiots in world football than them. Even those Madridistas who want managers sacked after a couple of bad results are s million times better than our Stretford benders

Ridiculous. You didn't watch thd game. We were rotten right from the first minute barring 10 mins when we scored the first. Leicester were cutting us through in midfield like hot knife through butter. It wasn't lapse of concentration. It was overall horrible play from all 10 outfield players. Ole out

I only attend games once or twice a year because I have to fly halfway across the planet and spend half my savings. Still I make it a point to make it to OT every year. Are you a Stretford bender who is still singing Ole at the wheel?

Nope, I sit in the SAF, third tier, just next to the Stret. I'm 50ish now and been going since I was 10, and we used to stand in the Stretford Paddock rather than the Stretford End (that was the corner). When I got all independent me and my mates stood in United Road because we were pretending to be hard, and then when I started earning we sat in K Stand.

Don't criticise people that spend fortunes and ridiculous amounts of time following their team, you're on the wrong track here.
