Ole

So, after having slept on it, drunk on it, been to the market on it and breakfasted on it, I've forgotten what I was going to say, Oh hang on I remember.
I'm drifting to joining forces with Wayne and Robin, AWW, Ron, the Goat, and I don't like it, I feel disloyal, dirty.

To go back in the midst of time when Ole joined us, I remember being so happy when we set off like a train, and disappointed when we hit the buffers.
I decided I would ignore that half season because he hadn't had a window, it was not his team and he had to get to know the players.

First full season. Not bad, third place, three semis, good signings (I thought) some decent results against good teams.
Not good football generally, but time for that as we progress.

On to season two, second place, a final, some good stuff, some bad, overall similar to season one.

The close season, two cracking signings, then Ronaldo. Now I had long ago posted I didn't want him, but when he arrived I was excited.

Then this season, I had (have) high hopes. But the quality of our play has disillusioned me. We don't look any better at all.

So, what's to be done? Ole has to carry the can.
Somebody, I don't know who, needs to sit down with him and lay it out. I'm not a fan of targets, you can have a bad run of injuries, bad luck in games.
So I would be saying "you are not giving the fans what they want, which is a blend of good results and exciting games.
We are getting neither. So, I would like to see a big improvement in the style of play, you talk of the United tradition, but don't play it.
Uniteds style is relentless attacking, the focus on taking the game to the opposition. We ,at the moment, are ponderous, build slowly from the back, our defence looks shaky every game, and it all needs sorting out.

This is my proposal, I want to see a change in our style, give something for the fans to fall in love with, I hope to see better results. I know we have a tough run of games coming up, but we have a squad capable of competing.
I'm not setting a points target or a number of games target. But I want you to think over what has been said, we may have another meeting around Christmas.
I know you feel we are missing at least one more player, fair enough, but remember we have backed you.
If you can achieve what's been said here we will back you again in the summer. I don'd feel I have to say more, so good luck Ole, you are liked here and we would like to see you succeed"

Ole should have been nothing more than a short term appointment.

He has done OK, but i think he is wrongly credited with changes made by the club, and few of his signings been succeses so far.

Ole could fluke a few decent results during this difficult run of games, but is that good enough after 3 years and £500m ? I dont think so.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

And who made that short term appointment a permanent one? Are you blaming the man for taking the job? I wouldn't have turned it down. Would you?

So who is ultimately responsible for that decision? Certainly can't say Ole isn't trying or he doesn't care. He might just be out of his depth with inexperienced coaching staff.

The real problem is the owners and board don't ever have a plan or strategy. They just make it up as they go which pretty much guarantees this won't change under the next guy.

The blame ultimately rests with the Glazers who have failed since SAF retired to give us a manager of the standard the club's size demands.

I blame Rio. He put insurmountable pressure on the board.

Unfortunately Ole has taken Utd as far as he can!

Someone stated earlier that he steadied the ship and I believe that’s all he was capable of, when things aren’t going right he clearly doesn’t seem to know what to do to change the direction of the game.

Sorry to say ! Time to go Ole,

I've always been Olegnostic, but I'll always defend him against childish and disrespectful comments.

If he's losing the dressing room he's doomed, we'll see over the next run of games.

You don't need to join forces with some of the roasters on here who were calling for Ole's head from the start.

Most reasonable people on here think that Ole has improved the overall culture and structure of the club, whilst showing incremental improvements in results. The same people thought there would be a crossroads in his tenure, when he would need to prove he was up for it to take us to the next level (winning big honours).

Its looking like he is not up to it, but he would be leaving behind a structure and squad that didn't require major upheaval. That can't be said of Moyes, LVG, Jose (the latter of which some of the Ole Out folk defended to the hilt).

That's why your ilk is known as Champions of Mediocrity. We are a laughing stock in world football and yet you want to give him chances.

The boomer fans in our fanbase like you are the most toxic bunch
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you actually understand what toxic means?

You're the most toxic little man on here, and now you're annoyed with people for not being as entitled and whiny as you.

I do find the choice of toxic as strange. Don't get me wrong, I want Ole out but I don't think supporting the club and getting behind the manager is necessarily how I'd define toxic.

I disagree with paragraph two. I'm sure he is responsible for the changes
