If we are competing for the league against Liverpool I know I can rely on United, Everton to take points off them. Doesn't matter how poor both teams are, it always happens for some odd reason.
With liverpool looking ominous again thanks to the return of van Dijk, We are going to need liverpool to drop points in the usual places. Not enough is said about Virgil van Dijk. The guy is really really a class player. Like Drogba his late development is simply stunning. Liverpool fans like to big up their players with best in the world in certain positions or the silly thing about Salah (best in the world at the moment ) dont know why fans do that but when it comes to Virgil he is head and shoulders ahead of his peers.Another 2 seasons of such high-quality defensive play and I will put him behind Rio as the classiest Center back I have seen in the premier league (I didnt get to watch Hansen).
The guy is even their best playmaker. Even Matip looks like Beckenbauer alongside van Dijk. I swear put Matip in the arsenal or Spurs team you would giggle every time you watch him play.
On to united, I have always felt they will beat most of the top teams or at least take points off them. Its the smaller teams that put men behind the ball that they struggle against.
I still think they can beat liverpool on sunday but I think Ole needs to get the team selection and tactics right. The thing with Liverpool is they will blitz you for 20-25 minutes in the first half. You have to be compact and steady enough to deny salah space and track mane from making runs from the wing to the striker position.
Their fullbacks are still not playing at their peak so for now there is less creativity and their midfielders generally don't score enough. Once you get through that initial 25 minutes the game becomes easier and you can create chances.
Problem is will Ole choose the right players on Sunday? For example I would bench Ronaldo for this one.
Rashford and Greenwood from the start and I would be tempted to have Cavani in as he works hard aswell. Sancho and Ronaldo are a No No.
Mc Fred needs to come back although Matic has been impressive each time I have seen him play. Pack the midfield with Pogba and Bruno and make the game compact.
Then rely on your attackers to finish off the few chances they create.
What they cant do is open up the game and try to fight fire with liverpool. They will smash them and Ole will be gone.
Head = United 2 - 1 Liverpool
Heart = United 4 - 0 Liverpool

The thing is, it’s not actually true - we could be relegated with games to spare and then play Liverpool. But there’s no way I was going to let that stop me.
