They weren't missing 5 first teamers in the sense that they weren't all starters. But I'll apply similar criteria. United were missing Varane, Martial and Jones. Rashford came off injured during the game and Maguire was only half fit.

What a great win it adversity from injury hit United

Maguire half fithe is just rubbish, nothing to do with his physical fitness.

As opposed to all those great defenders Atalanta were missing that normally make them such a robust defensive unit.

I love when people start dredging up 10+ years ago as something that's actually relevant to a game this weekend while others are debating how rubbish teams are from last night.

It was a good watch. end to end stuff. not much quality but fun to watch.

Make no mistake about it... I think we’ve also beaten Liverpool tonight. The result and momentum in that changing room will see us over the line on Sunday. We’ve beaten them.

Yeah but lets not be thickskates and instead use our heads here, that was a year ago. This isn't the solar system where the same thing happens over and over so what happened last year is completely irrelevant.

Your game was last night, though and that plays into current form.
