The Champions League?????

Only got to watch this last night and it took me back to that night in Porto. I can imagine we all dealt with the disappointment of that night differently. I personally stepped away from the whole game and football and began my summer. I did not watch any youtube reviews, podcasts, or read articles after the game. I switched off because I wasn't about to deal with the negativity.

My biggest fear was for Pep and the players. How they would respond to this disappointment. The pressure to win the Champions League at this football club is there and is evident and it is starting to weigh down on the manager and players as evidenced by the way they all froze in the final.

Yes maybe Pep should have played Rodri instead of Sterling but I feel the players could have done more to compete on the night. No offense but Chelsea as good as they are defensively didnt do much that night. I felt PSG was a much harder opposition and we came through against them in 2 legs but we gave up so easily against an inferior Chelsea side.

PSG blitzed us in the first half of each leg but we rode the storm, as we did against Dortmund.

We at least have a new group like Rodri, Foden, Dias who dont quite have the scars of the older team members but it's hard to see what we do differently especially without a world-class striker.

Maybe our luck will change this season.
