He played all season last season, a near full portion of Euros games and has started most if not all games for us this season. Arteta does remember he's a physically immature kid doesn't he? Saka looked absolutely spent tonight, so much of his play just looked tired. Like the effort and desire were there but his body just didn't have the fight to give. The kid needs a rest and a good long one at that. Martinelli is sat rotting away on the bench so it's not like we don't have a quality replacement.
If Arteta doesn't rest Saka VERY soon then something's just going to go "pop" and we won't be seeing him kick a ball for 18 months. I can't believe Arteta just keeps trotting him out there with no regard whatsoever for/to, the sheer number of games he has started over the last year. It's far too many for someone of his age and at AFC especially, we know all to well how this overplaying story ends for the player in question.

Martinelli is not a "quality replacement". Still can't believe how much hype he gets here considering the grief that a vastly superior Pepe gets.
