Utd Vs Liverpool pre amble

1 in 10...eh? What do i mean!!

Well...in the last 10 games between utd and liverpool...utd have beaten liverpool once!!

Utd currently rely on individual brilliance while liverpool rely on a team ethos supplemented with individual brilliance....this is the main difference, but there is another. Liverpool work much much harder without the ball.than utd do, its backed up statistically as well...the media had stats showing utd are the worst out of the top 6..i think...distance covered in a match.

Utd can win of course...but i would be surprised, we beat Atletico who are far superior to utd..and we beat them at their place too where they only been beaten once i think in 4yrs in the CL.

This game on Sunday will show the futility of playing pogba and Ronaldo...i really hope they do play, passengers in terms of work rate and Vs teams like City and Liverpool you cant carry passengers.

Team selections see curtis back, but for utd Fernandes and rashford could be missing but tbh i think they will play even if not 100% fit.

1-4...prediction....plenty of Ronaldo diving and pogba arm throwing to come

Any Liverpool fan while being happy with the win at AM
must have concerns about the way it came about.
Even with ten men for half the game they looked threatening on the counter.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not really, AM are a more than decent side, excellent players, top manager and have not lost at home in four years.

Great result.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
?? They lost at home to Chelsea in February
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It was just something a read tbf, maybe its's group stages or something.

Either way a tough place to go.

Sure it was something they said on BT sport at least once but indeed they lost to Chelsea. Someone didn’t do their homework.

Based on how I expect the game to go there are a couple of big questions.

Ole will set up defensively and look for the break. He’s done that time and again against big sides (with good success) so I think it’s safe to assume. If so then question number 1 would be can Utd’s defence show the discipline and ability to keep Liverpool out?

Based on performance so far this season you’d imagine Liverpool will score so the next question is can we handle Utd’s response to going behind because the one thing we can reliably expect from this Utd team is a good response to going behind. We’ll need to cope better than we did with Atletico.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah it would be terrible if we came away with a 3-2 win like we did with atletico wouldn't it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sigh. You know it is possible to get an excellent result but there still be aspects of a game that didn’t go well.

So no, it wouldn’t be terrible. Any win would be great. If you can be bothered to check my post history then you’ll see a poster who has been very positive about the AM match. But I suspect you won’t if the lazy conclusion from your comment is any indication.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

There's nothing lazy in pointing out the foolishness of your final part of your post.

Of course there were aspects of the athletico game that didn't do well but the point is that they are a much better team than manu so if we coped well enough to get a win against them it should certainly suffice tomorrow. Sigh.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

No you’re right - a response that effectively said ‘well we won didn’t we’ isn’t lazy at all. It’s well thought through and intelligent.

Yes, Atletico are a better side but Alisson was man of the match and Utds forwards are very dangerous. If you think it’s foolish of me to want better game management after taking the lead. responding to the opponents resurgence in a more controlled way then so be it. Each to their own.

On paper we should smash Utd.

Absolutely bang average players all the way through the team and a dross manager plus awful fans but... Utd away innit so draw is most likely.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Bang average players? If we swapped managers I don't think you'd finish within 15pts of us tbh.

I see this a lot but I feel your fans massively overrate about half your team.

Klopp isn't going to make the likes of AWB, McT and Fred CL standard is he?

I could go on tbh.

It's a shame that you feel the need to change what i said to try to win your argument.

I said 'Yeah it would be terrible if we came away with a 3-2 win like we did with atletico wouldn't it.'

Your rather childish 'well we won didn’t we' comment is all of your own lazy thought process, rather like the 'We’ll need to cope better than we did with Atletico' comment after just winning against one of the most feared teams in Europe when playing at home.

And no you didn't say that you 'wanted better game management after taking the lead. responding to the opponents resurgence in a more controlled way' as i've already pointed out you said 'We’ll need to cope better than we did with Atletico' a completely different statement suggesting that the level of our peformance against them wouldn't be enough to beat the mancs.

If changing what has actually been said is how you like to conduct a debate then so be it.
Each to their own.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

You’re right, I didn’t use the words ‘game management’ or ‘cope with a resurgent’ opponent. But given I was talking about us handling a response to an opponent going behind - what on earth did you think I was talking about?! Not everything needs to be spelt out. At least not in the real world, ja606 appears to be different.

If you want to think I’ve made some massive leap in the meaning of my comments then there’s not much I can do about it I guess. If I misjudged the intent of your comment then I have no problem apologising because, believe it or not, I don’t consider this (and am not looking for) an argument.

Enjoy the game.

Quite clearly saying 'We’ll NEED to cope better than we did with Atletico' suggests you think that if we don't then we won't win. That shouldn't need to be spelt out. At least not in the real world, ja606 appears to be different.

I've no idea what you are talking about with your masive leap nonsense. I've just read the text as you wrote it and taken the only meaning it has in English.

If you meant something else and inadvertently wrote the wrong thing then all you had to do was say so. To suggest you've not been looking for an argument after continually arguing and making several comments in a condescending manner when it is yourself in fact who is in the wrong has i'm afraid made you look rather more foolish than you probably are.

I'm sure we'll both enjoy the game

Yeah I heard it mentioned on a couple of podcasts too. Obviously all using the same incorrect statistics.
