As one of Sky’s “platinum" customers I was offered the chance to upgrade to Sky Glass.
Gone are the days of a TV box and dish! It’s a streaming service built into a TV. There was some chat about technical spec but that all goes over my head.
A fad, or the future of TV subscriptions?

I remember being dead chuffed with my 19” back in the day

You had a 19”?! I was envious of people like you!
Difference nowadays is there’s no point having uhd and a smaller tv unless you’re going to sit less than a meter in front of it.

Ah fair enough. Is it similar to the sky q hardware in that you don’t actually own the tv, you’re essentially loaning it from them?

I think you can buy it outright, but it's probably not very cost effective to do so. Otherwise you can pay for it over the length of the contract. But obviously if you leave Sky upon contract expiry, you'll lose the Sky from the TV

Got you, thanks merry.
I’m not sure many are going to sign up for it.

Seems like the user has a lack of control over what they can and cannot watch. There's also the prospect of Sky losing some of their monopolies.
I'll stick with my 46" LG and Firestick.

No problem Melts. Yeah I'm not sure how well it will do. But knowing Sky, they'll make a success of it in time.
