Greenwood

What is his best position ? He’s currently playing on the right wing where he comes up with the odd thunderbolt to get fans off their seat but for me he doesn’t track back (one of the laziest United players I’ve seen for a while tbh) and as far as I remember, I don’t think I’ve seen him ever put a cross in - though I’m happy to be told when these rare occasions happened.

All this leads me to think he’s not a winger at all and should be playing through the middle. Of course with Ronaldo and Cavani he will struggle to play there so what should we do with Greenwood ? At some point we need to give Sancho a chance in the side to start a game in the position he was bought for so is that time now and should Greenwood be dropped ?

But I’ve not said they will, I’m comparing it to Grealish in his formative years and under Smith.

People act like players are robots and just need educating, it’s a nonsense. It helps but the main thing is the player themselves.

Yes, but players won't learn everything on their own—they learn some things through others.

Take Rooney, he never really figured out that a forward pass was better than just passing it out wide to Valencia all the time.

But these players are all getting a high basic level of coaching from professional, qualified coaches. It’s why coaching badges exist. Footballers are never going to have perfect conditions in which to develop and thrive. The best will overcome the difficulties they all have in their careers.

I can’t really respond to the Rooney comment seriously because it’s so retaaarded I don’t know where to start.

It's all about effective football, and players developing effective habits.

……

This has to be your most idiotic comment to date.

He is a wide forward.

I remember when people used to say Scholes was / would be a top CF. Same with Greenwood.

I don’t recall United fans talking about RVP’s potential when Arsenal” signed him.

He's our most selfish player since Kanchelskis.

You said people, not United fans.

He will eventually be a CF. He is a wide forward at the moment.

His current position can only work in a 4-3-3. In a 4-2-3-1 it leaves the team badly exposed.
