A revelation in defence...Trevoh Chalobah!

Oozes composure and brilliance.
Risen to the occasion, under immense pressure.

Pertinent reminder that the intention wasn't even for Chalobah to stay in the first-team squad this season...
Never have seen this emergence had the Kounde deal gone through. Front contender for player of the year, at the moment.

This is just further evidence and a case study that managers should trust players from within!
Our standout home-produced products have more than shown they can be relied on at the highest level, to help achieve their goals in short and long-term (more so than some experienced seniors).
Their development should always be the main priority over (expensive) vanity signings.

Lastly, a place in the England squad over Mings or Coady is a must.

Still want Koundé though. With a few old heads moving on in the next few years we could do with both

I think we need both Kounde and De Ligt based on what we are hearing about Rudiger and AC playing hardball over new contracts.
That would leave us with Chal, De Ligt and Sarr, with Azpi and Silva mentoring them.
I am increasingly finding Rudiger's and AC's attitude disrespectful to the average Blues fan - it would take me 10 years to earn what they are demanding for a week's wages. Also, I think both owe their recent form to Tuchel, and am not convinced they will find the grass greener elsewhere.

You would have happily binned both off this time last year.

Loyalty works both ways.

Not me personally

Chalobah getting into the first team was so random. A lot wanted Tomori back, some wanted Guehi to stay and then there was the Kounde deal that looked like happening at any moment. Yet here we are with Chalobah who hasn't put a foot wrong all season. Get him that new contract asap.

Chalobah has been excellent. If either Rudi or AC want out then bye bye, we're Chelsea Football Club and we hold all the cards.

Chalobah' emergence has somewhat soften the blow of losing those aforementioned names (Guehi & Tomori).
Zero doubt in my mind that he and Christensen don't commit long-term, not in the slightest bit concerned.

Christensen and Rudiger are entitled to request some parity with highest earners, given their outstanding form and contribution for club and country over the past year or so.
Know their worth, much like how previously as an example Terry & Lampard used clubs (Inter, Man City) as leverage to ultimately get the wage package that they desire...This is nothing unusual.
Not in any way, shape or form disrespectful.

Club values Christensen particularly highly (as highly as Hudson-Odoi), thus they'd do anything to keep him at the club...eventually bowing to his demands.
Not convinced they'd do the same for Rudiger, taking into account...age, injury history and already feels like he's hitting his top potential ceiling at present...can go south very quickly (There's a lot at stake offering him hefty wage increase, I understand the reluctance from the club).
