That was a much- needed win. Fans were amazing - really got behind the team and kept it mostly positive.
However, we are bang in trouble. We are ridiculously slow in possession and have no idea how to attack. Nuno hasn’t got a clue IMO. I’ve stuck up for him as I think he’s got a dud squad to work with but if nothing changes drastically in the next month, I’d get ready for some major low points this season. Literally brought Son on after we were singing “ Nuno make a sub, Nuno Nuno make a sub".
Every player took at least one or two more touches than necessary and there was fack all movement. We then end up at walking pace and allowed Burnley to just sit and wait until we inevitably lost the ball. Even when we pass the ball side to side, which is a lot, we don’t even pull or stretch the oppo defence because they know we will eventually come back inside.
Gollini - his kicking was awful, was just punting it straight down the pitch to nobody. Didn’t release it quickly enough when we had breaks on. He’s not a good keeper. 5
Royal - physically very imposing. Got all the attributes to be a good RB. Comfortable on the ball and solid defensively. Looked to go forward but didn’t fancy crossing in the first half - put a few decent ones in second half. 7
Romero - top top player. If we can get someone of his level to partner him, we can build a really tight defence. Just sometimes he over-commits and it leaves us open but generally really solid, imposing and technically outstanding. 9
Sanchez - was alright. Seen it all before. Won’t get better. 6
Davies - did ok. Solid and unspectacular. Takes an extra touch before ever final ball which then renders said ball easy to defend. 5
PEH - look like he’s doing a lot but is he? 6
Skipp - I’d liked to have seen him stay on and PEH to have gone off. Just to see more what he could do without Hojberg buzzing about. Always wants the ball and looked forwards a bit more. 6
Gil - lightweight
Bergwijn - he’s gone. Ever since his Liverpool misses. Did nothing. Looks big and strong - could go back to the Dutch league and be an ok player. 4
Lo Celso - rubbish. Total waste of space. Does nothing and missed a chance. Hides. Picks an easy pass. 3
Moura - brought us to life for 20 mins then didn’t do much. Good goal. Had another good shot. 5
Kane - a massive problem. He’s having a mare. However, his attitude and body language stink as much as his touch. Needs dropping. Half-hearted response to fans singing his name (Son was over clapping and giving his shirt away etc). It’s actually embarrassing singing “He’s one of our own" - he’s cringing at it. I won’t sing his name as it doesn’t feel right. I really thought he’d just knuckle down but I think mentally he’s shot - I don’t think he’s intentionally playing badly but it’s just all wrong. 3
We should be building a team around Son.
My dad is the most annoyingly positive Spurs fan you’ll meet and even his reaction and summation was: well that was sheite.
We should’ve been putting about 3 past that Burnley side after scoring but we tried our best to let them equalise.
Spurs are abysmal at the moment and the only ray of light is Romero - but he won’t win you any matches because we don’t look like scoring. Nuno hasn’t got a clue but no decent manager in their right mind wanted or would want the job.
Utd on Saturday will tell us a lot more.
Good result in the only comp we have a chance in.

It definitely is a dud squad and I’d say 3 years of the evidence of your own eyes should be enough.

The players individually are a hell of a lot better than what the performances as a unit suggest. Nuno 100% should be getting more out of them.
It’s the fifth best squad in the league.
