Well formations can win and lose you games and this one definitely lost us it. First half we were embarrassing and the formation was entirely to blame. People criticising Thomas and Soumare need to look at the second half and see what happens when the formation is right.

I thought Thomas and Barnes were excellent second half but for the lack of finishing we could have got something from a game we deserved nothing from.

Rodgers needs to look at that and learn very quickly which teams a back 5 will work against and which it won’t. He should have changed after 10 mins to be honest.

Frustrating start to the weekend that.

On Soumare, to me he looks classy or laboured and today he looked very laboured. Slow around the pitch and wanted way too much time on the ball. For me he’s been bought to replace Tielemans because he can’t cover ground like Ndidi.

As for Ramsdale, I remember being lambasted on here when I suggested he could be a long term replacement for Schmeichel. Who’s laughing now! Flipping great today ans when he wasn’t great he was lucky!

Rodgers is Too one dimensional, other Managers can read him like a book, if it wasn't for that he'd be a very Good Manager.

Rodgers certainly seems to stick with a formation that works once and then think “that will work against every team then” and we seem to continue like that until it fails.

At least he changed it at half time today.

That was an abysmal first half effort. Mersey pretty well nails it. But for Ramsdale we might have got something out of that. I dread us conceding corners. Schmeichel won’t come for crosses and zonal pretty ineffective. Why we have all 11 players to defend beats me. Should leave Vardy and one other on the half way line or thereabouts.
Soumare dreadfully laboured. We’re a different side with Justin, Fofana, Ricardo and Ndidi. Looks like we could get three of them back soon though.
