If we had hired Potter/Ten Hag

In the summer, how do you think we'd be shaping up now?

I think we'd all be pretty excited about Spurs. If Vieira can turn a Hodgson Palace team into a slick outfit so quickly then I've no doubt a quality progressive manager could have got us going.

The only shred of hope I have is if we did get a manager like Potter/Ten Hag then things can turn around very quickly. However, unfortunately we have two absolute clowns in charge of hiring the next manager and we'll probably end up with Gattuso as the cycle of pain continues.

It really is sickening that we had the opportunity to steer the club back on the right track last summer with the right appointment. Yet once again Levy has completely facked it.

Thought Scotty P was available - he isn’t - we’re faaaacked

Redknapp til the end of the season

Parker plays a very conservative brand of football. No way the fanbase would take to him. Also I’m sorry but there is no way he’s done enough in his career at the moment to warrant taking over at Spurs.

Anyone but Nuno as it stands for me

It can’t be any worse than this (although I thought that after Jose)

Fulham fans would likely tell you otherwise (in terms of style of play that is)

I'm sure you'd be playing better football and even if results weren't great the fans would be far less discontented by it.

Not sure why negative managers get gigs so often. Unless they're doing incredibly well (not everyone can, there's only a few trophies on offer) then it seems the minimum a club should aim for is to offer something watchable to the fans

Spot on.

I just want to go to games with a bit of excitement for what's in store. Maybe even see a shot on target...

We'd still have problems because a lot of the squad isn't good enough and needs replacing. Kane would still be underperforming on account of him being affected by a missed transfer I reckon.

But yes in general I think things would be better and more hopeful.

I’m not trying to wum here but it’s this that makes me wonder whether Spurs is a good fit for Potter. Imo the guy will be given a big job sooner or later if he keeping performing for Brighton. But it didn’t happen quickly. He didn’t turn around Swansea immediately and it’s taken a bit of time with Brighton too. The players need time to adapt to what he wants and he to shape the squad.

Klopp needed time to sort us out, the direction of travel was immediately clear and the performances improved but the results took longer to come.

You can help short cut it with bags of cash but I doubt Spurs would go down that route.

Just think that for Potter, a bit of patience is required and what I see with Spurs right now is a deeply frustrated fan base (with good reason). Would he be given 2-3 years to have a real crack at it?

I think he would providing there were signs the club was progressing in that time. No fan should expect silverware in his first season and I don't think they would either. I'm sure there would be some poor results along the way as he tried to become acquainted with the team and stamp his philosophy on it. But at the same time there'd surely be some good results too and at least more of a desire to get forward and attack with better players than he's had at either Brighton or Swansea remember.

I just want to see us playing some decent attacking football again. Even in the 1990s when we were really shiiit we still at least tried to play good football.

I know Potter is a gamble but let’s face it so were Jose and Nuno, and I’ve accepted we’re not a top four team now so I’d be willing to give him a chance if I could see some progress. In the first few months of Poch’s tenure we were quite inconsistent but you could see the progress being made.

Doubt any incoming manager would be afforded time to rebuild and stamp his philosophy. most still think this team are capable of playing exciting , expansive football.!!
Nuno still has the same sheet players the last 3 managers has had and look what happened to them.
The few incoming players in the past 3 years haven’t added much .believe Nuno has had 17 games in charge
With not much preseason.
Will Potter be backed and given a few years to rebuild the squad to match his style . Several in the squad are not up to scratch.

Gallardo can't speak English but don't think it will be an issue. The most important thing is whether he can translate his football philosophy to the players.

Your squad lack certain players to play his favoured 4312 system with a trequartista and a deep lying play maker at the base of the midfield.

Potter would be a better fit but patience is needed if you go for a progressive manager.
