Quite a lot of talk over the last couple of days that 3 at the back suits our squad (which makes it all the more bizarre Nuno never tried it). Conte apparently likes 343 and 352. Personally I think the latter suits us best and would expect something like;
Lloris
Dier Romero Sanchez
Emerson GLC Hoijberg Ndombele Reggie
Kane Son
On paper that looks a pretty strong team. Kane and Son playing together up front should mean goals. Reggie is clearly a better wing back than full back, whilst Emerson looks to have the engine for the role.
Conte's big test is the midfield. All three have quality but all three have question marks over their performances in a spurs shirt. Can he finally get them consistently performing to their ability?
The centre backs is an area of concern. You could argue Tanganga and Davies are better options than Dier/Sanchez. This is another area I'm interested to see how Conte goes.

I cringe everytime I see Dier and Sanchez in a back three. Please Conte, give Rodon a chance. Wales play with a back three and he does alright for them. Anything but Dier.

i do actually think the 3 at the back and Conte football could work for Dele as a midfield scoring option.
just the midfield lacks creativity still and steel
Romero, Ndombele, Kane is a good spine all can thrive under Conte

He's the middle of the 3 for Wales I think, isn't he? With Davies on the left? Also the technical/possession demands on the centre halves for Wales will be very different to the demands on the centre halves under Conte.
Obviously happy to see him given a go, mind you

Maybe. The advanced midfielders in Conte's 3142 need to be really good at quick pass-and-move football. They need to break the lines, quickly, with passes into the strikers' feet, and then get ready to receive the layoff at pace and drive forwards and/or wide.
Alli has the engine for it, and obviously he likes to get forwards, but I question whether his quick one-/two-touch game is accurate enough. Maybe, who knows. There's obviously a player in there if Conte can bring him out, but I wonder if he's maybe more likely to compete for one of the centre forward roles

The only cause for concern is the centre backs... Romero aside...
Got a feeling that we will require a top quality centre back... Dier, Sanchez, Davies not good enough... Rodon & Tanganga sounds good in theory... but they’re unproven
