Mismanagement of Maguire & Varane

Apologies for the 3rd article of the day but this situation is frustrating me.

There have been reports that Varane is out for 3-4 weeks which is a massive blow to us.

I can understand why Ole brought him back on Saturday. He’s our best defender and we were desperate for a result and it paid off but was playing him again 72 hours later the best idea?

James Ducker from the Telegraph has today reported Harry Maguire was rushed back 7-10 days before he should. It’s no surprise he has been awful. I don’t think Maguire is worth anywhere near what we paid but he’s far better than what he’s shown in recent weeks. He still doesn’t look fit either.

I get that Bailly and Lindelof isn’t an ideal pairing but why not use the back earlier. He could have used McTominay or Shaw in a back 3 with them.

I’m not looking to start an Ole bashing article but it looks like it was poor management.

So to summarise: bad manager manages badly.

The medical team have to pass players fit to play in fairness.

It’s ironic as Ole and Ed have assembled the best squad we’ve had in years - arguably our best since 2009 but he manages the squad as well as RDD manages to keep his new identities secret.

Managers have been known to go against the advice of their medical team. Though players playing whilst not being 100% fit isn’t exactly a new phenomenon.

This is a common theme with Ole that i've been banging on about yet ole lovers will shrug at it.

Maguire, Shaw, McTominay, Rashford, Lindelof have all been rushed back or played through injury.

Ole couldn't care less about the wellbeing off his players, see the overplaying of Bruno and now rushing back Varane.

This guy is so lucky to be in a job at a top club and he will sacrifice anyone to stay in the job. He's a limited manager who can't do anything outside his best 11 and if one goes down he can't adapt.

It's why we run out of steam at the end of the season and win nothing.

The hamstring injury he picked up yesterday was totally unconnected to his groin injury that he has just recovered from.

Every manager does it, so hard to point the finger.

What isn't acceptable is seeing Maguire stink the place up but still being undroppable.
