Forest v Luton - Match Thread

A win here could see us move up to 9th by the end of this week's midweek fixtures, leapfrogging Luton (amongst others) in the process.

After West Brom this weekend we have to play the current 22nd,12th, 21st, 14th, 7th and 23rd placed teams. Two decent results would point to a chance to break into the top six, before the all important January transfer window.

* Forest are W2 D2 L1 under Cooper at home, Luton are W1 D1 L3 away.
* Forest have drawn three of their last four games, Luton have lost three of their last four games.
* Forest over the last ten are 1.9 PPG and Luton are 1.4 PPG.

It will be interesting to see if Bong starts, and if Colback and Grabban have recovered from their exploits.

Defensively we are heading towards a crisis. Bong at LB, Lowe out, Tutu awol in London and Ely and Soh unable to recover from minor setbacks. Could we see Back back in the squad and Drager after international duty?

Samba
Spence Worrall Figs McKenna Bong
Yates Garner
Z.Nagel Taylor Lolley

Horvath Drager Colback Carvalho Johnson Mighten Grabban

Prediction: Forest 2 Luton 0

No shots on target - is that what you get when you don’t play Grabben?

We really should be beating teams like Luton at home - our home form is still so inconsistent and results are poor

Saying all that - playing 30 minutes with only 10 men, a point isn’t perhaps so bad

Odeja looked very good indeed. Grabban should have started but guess he needed a rest. Just shows we really need another striker if we can get one in Jan. Not great result but lucky not to lose after the red card. We really need to hold onto Worrall at all costs, he will definitely be a Prem player soon enough

Good result in the end. Fantastic heart to see the game out.

The LB / LWB issue intensifies with Colback suspended.

I thought Ojeda did brilliantly in his first start. Would have been my MotM otherwise.

good point ..thought we were going to collapse when Colback was sent off
Ojeda looks promising
We should have had a penality.
Taylor waste of space
Samba was the man..his second save was better than the penality save , really thought it had gone in.

I guess that’ll teach me to look forward to a Forest home game. We were hopeless, no communication between midfield and attack, discipline was poor, we were lucky to get away with a point at home to Luton. Officials were absolutely appalling, the corner which led to the penalty was a blatant goal kick, we got a free kick a yard outside the box that was definitely inside. All things considered a point isn’t too bad in the circumstances.

Spot on about Brice, he was excellent, as was Worrall.
Too many others looked tired and a bit jaded.

No...it was me!

If we keep our players I can still see us finishing in the top six.

Third in the form table over the last ten games with 1.9 PPG.

Keep that up and we are guaranteed to finish top six.

Note* Updated from current form table over the last ten games - we will finish on 75 points.

However, we have a few great players but not a great squad. Lowe missing is a big loss and we need another striker, no more injuries and to keep hold of what we have got. It's all a big IF of course.

Yes thre are a lot of ifs still.
We definitely need more of a goal threat. We only threaten in wide areas (Johnson, Spence and Lowe) and we only have one goalscorer. Change these two things in January and we go from a top half team to a top ten team.
