Cooper

Seen a lot of stick aimed at Liam recently but I think people miss so much about what the guy is about.

Without a doubt, in my mind, he brings players through, PJ, White and Pascal have all benefitted alongside him and he continues to be a great ambassador for the club off the pitch.

Whoever steps into his shoes in future should sit up and take note, he flags up three possible contenders, Cresser, Struijk and Joffy, often in the past you would get the impression that the 1st team barely notice the juniors pros so that's another plus in my book that he's performing a mentoring role for the kids, helping to future proof the club so to speak.
Think he's missed Greenwood and Lewis Bate off that list, five strong candidates.

Smartest thing TC did was let the players choose their captain.

He came in for awful amount of stick for doing that, but it was brave leadership which got players behind him and 5 years later he's captaining his side in the Prem and playing for his country.

We all know that there are better players in this position, but overall he's done well for us, he's been part of our return which numerous captains, manager and players have been unable to do and deserves our support.

Never really seen him get much stick tbh.

Cooper has some great, brave moments and is a solid defender most of the time.

If he has one flaw, it's that he tends to give away silly free kicks around the edge of the penalty area with mis-timed tackles.

If he could avoid those, there wouldn't be much to criticise.

I think you've nailed it LeedsFan, Coops seems to have a costly mistake in him every match, though I don't blame him for Sunday's free kick that cost us a goal – he had no other choice but to give away that free kick. The guy is a legend for us and when his playing days are coming to an end, I hope the club keeps him on as a backroom influence.

I remember when he was rumoured to be on the move
to us from Chesterfield. HeI was highly touted. Do we
remember he was brought in by Nicola Salerno?
Great piece of business by him. Coop's been immense.

Great Captain. Great mentality.

And he's having a great season IMO.

He's been our best CB for years, but gets constantly underrated. Never see anyone pick up on mistakes from other CBs as vehemently as they do with Cooper.

You're right, he does get a lot of stick – probably much of it unjustified. As Leeds fans we all love the guy, so I'll try and be less critical of him myself in the future.

He gets loads of abuse on SM. Mostly by fans who couldn’t kick a ball to save their lives.

Cooper, Roberts, Klich, Bamford, Forshaw, Firpo all getting a use at times.
