Interim manager!

Another angle on this appointment that I like is that Rangnick is a man who will be able to discern whether Carrick, McKenna, etc are talented coaches who worked under a poor leader and can thrive under him, or we need better.

Rangnick’s reputation seems to be more to do with what he pioneered, and how he’s shaped clubs as a result of those philosophies - particularly as a director of football - rather than him actually being a successful coach himself.
But with that in mind, it’s actually a good thing that he’s an interim and will then be consulting at the club. It’ll give the players some familiarity with particular methods of play, but also allow us to better assess which players are really suitable for playing in this was as well.
It should, in theory, make the summer that little bit better having an idea of what coach can come in and build upon what we’ve been working on, as well as having a man that was involved with the coaching of the players being able to advise on who and where we need to make changes in the transfer market.

Thinking of that Anakin and Padme four-panel meme with the smiling and then serious face:
The Board won't appoint Rangnick as interim to bring in a new, energetic, attacking style of football and then appoint a permanent manager with a totally different style, will they?

Pretty sure that's the first time I've had some kind of impact on social media. This must be what it feels like being a millennial.
(By the way, people's faces never look how you'd imagine them, do they?)

You're welcome. More handsome than you imagined I'm sure!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Definitely. You're the one on the right with the big brown triangular ears, yeah?

Ralf Rangnick on Man United's defence in September 2020: “They could do with a left-back, I know they have Luke Shaw but I'm not so sure if he's still on the same kind of level you need for a club like Manchester United."

Your time has come, young Alexander.

He’s right. Outside of 1 brilliant season, Shaw hasn’t been great.

I don't agree, be was great before the broken leg. Regular mom on here

Huzzah! I think this move has pretty much united the fanbase in feeling excited and optimistic! Won't last long but we may as well enjoy the feeling whilst we can 😀
