Storm arwen has quieted down after a bad night but still storm clouds at the unibol with an injury and suspension crisis threatening to derail the season. 3 points in the bag from midweek a patched up Bolton squad will be hoping for another 3 points today and get through the next round of the efl trophy unscathed before a mini break thanks to being knocked out of the cup. Today's opponents Cheltenham last season's league 2 champions have had an excellent start and are 10th and a place and a point better off than Bolton. A win today would hopefully keep top 6 in sight and keep it that way until reinforcements arrive in January and players return from injury. Cheltenham will certainly be tougher opposition than Doncaster. Team news. Worse than Tuesday. Out suspended afolayan. Injured isgrove, Sheehan, Williams, Jones, Brockbank, Bakayoko, Tutte. Baptiste could be fit to sit on the bench. Loans out there. Can't get Edwards and Senior back until the Accrington game , Darcy until the Norwegian play offs finish and the likes of Crawford, Politic, fitzmartin until 8th January. It is what it is, have to muddle through. Today's side picks itself apart from delfounso or Amaechi to come in for afolayan. A minutes applause on 6 minutes as we remember Gary speed. 3pm kick off. A win and no more injuries please.

Don't mention Covid and all its variants, I'd rather have a full season with an injury crisis than it being cut short again.
Balaclava, face mask and thermals Tues night.

Thanks for the highlights.
Disappointed with Dixon and both of their goals.
Chunga's goal was great and Xavia did well to get his goal in his first start.
As for Doyle, he's become a bit of a stump. Just how did he miss that chance. He could and perhaps should have scored two. A perfect cross for the first one and he fluffed it. It just shows that we need someone bringing in in January.
Overall a good result after going behind twice.

I think we should be looking for a new keeper. Dixon fine on the bench but starting Dixon makes too many mistakes for me and physically he's a bit lightweight and small. An evatt player though and I think the plan is to promote one of Alexander or Hutchinson when gilks hangs his gloves up. As for Doyle he worked tirelessly yesterday. Doesn't look sharp to me though, maybe the injury he is carrying. He is 33 and will need replacing soon. Interesting rumours about going for Carl Stockton in January. I can't see that as he would come with a big fee and he was out of contract last summer and on a free. I've said before I don't think all problems would be solved in one transfer window, signings in January and more in the summer. Good to see the club have long term plans and not over spending and going back to those bad days.

I did think Gordon was at fault for the 2nd goal. Ball watching and not the winger. He looked very static. Add in a right back to the shopping list. Jones and Brockbank are injured too often and I think brockbank is going backwards. A move away in January may do him good.

If Bolton sold afolayan in January some money could be reinvested in cash signings. Going to be an interesting January.

We need clean sheets and goals so I'd concentrate on the back four and front one when we get down to the shops.
Can we also ensure we have no more square pegs in round holes after January, too many errors occur when the pegs are not in the right shaped holes.

In updated players not coming back any time soon news Ronan Darcy will be involved in the play offs for Songdal - despite losing on Saturday they made it after all.

Has somebody tested the under soil heating ?
If we removed the fuse and left it to jack Frost we could save money and have a night off to rest up.
Where do we stand on heating the soil I thought we wanted the earth to cool down.

Sadly we won't be requiring the undersoil heating as it's going to be 10°C in a few hours and will remain this temperature till Tuesday evening.
Sadly the players will have to wrap up in the cotton wool and bubble wrap once more before the weekend off.
