I thought small squad rationale is obvious.

You’re not going to get top players prepared to go through such punishing training knowing they’ll rarely get a chance.

They would get chances. It's called managing the squad. When the injuries happen you'll be covered.

Small squad when we had two top three finishes in the championship and a ninth place finish last season, the size of the squad has not been an issue in the past

"By way of further complications several first-teamers including, most notably Diego Llorente, Raphinha, Robin Koch, Luke Ayling, Junior Firpo, Phillips, Stuart Dallas and Rodrigo, have been exiled to the treatment room at various times, but the situation is gradually easing with only Bamford and Koch still not quite fit."

Give that many injuries to any squad in this league and they will struggle.

We have dropped from 9th to 17th because of those injuries. Wouldn't happen with a bigger squad.

Again, show me any squad, apart from maybe the super rich ones, who could have that many injuries and not suffer.

English lessons

We’ve lost the same number of games as many others teams above us. Spurs, ManU, Everton, Brentford, Villa, Southampton, Watford have all lost 5 or more.

It’s the draws that are holding us back and I expect some of those would have been wins with a fully fit squad.

But that’s the point. They don’t get chances. The managing of the squad is never change the team. Look at Gotts, was it 38 times on bench with no getting in pitch?

Got to say I am disappointed that Gelhardt hasn't been started in the last couple of games. Think he did enough to show he can be a handful. And I thought Greenwood might have been given a go before now - he must be chomping at the bit! Think MB should give the youth players more time, particularly if Rodrigo and Roberts are not doing anything much. His faith in Roberts in particular is quite extraordinary!

Think Stoopo makes a good point about all the drawn games and a fully fit squad.
