Rangers AGM

I wonder how it's going?

Had first Xmas night out with HR team last week. Dinner and drinks at brewhemia and then Some outdoor kareoke place in Edinburgh. I was excellent, also the only guy which I think is normal in hr.

Was looking forward to going down to the team in London next week but I've cancelled the trip now as the idea of being on a full plane at the moment is less appealing than last week. Also people were cancelling after yesterday's announcements

As a former Christmas night out venue manager I can tell you that teachers groups were the nightmare from hell. Always the last Friday when school had just broken up, they were exhausted and grumpy and sure as hell were not going to give up a Saturday night for a "school thing". Miserable coonts every last one of them..

Oh Merry Christmas everyone

Mrs S is on the red eye tomorrow. Not happy about it. She had a wonderful pre-meeting call where many people had to have it spelt out to them why it was inappropriate to attend in person with them being oblivious to protocols, good manners and common sense.

That’s tough. A late night flight after a busy working day.
No time to change. Damp. Tousled. Perspiring.
Mmmm.

Mrs S (Schizo) is also looking very red eyed. Although that may be due to copious quantities of pre dinner gin

Omicron is in the country yet the rates of hospitalisation and rates of infection are dropping in what is the supposedly worse time of the year.

Even SA think we are overreacting and just for the record it’s not a SA variant. It has just been highlighted by their government first. As a result their economy has just been savaged by the rest of the world. What an incentive for anyone else to come out with news on potential variants.

And now we are proposing to reintroduce working from home

I'm starting to get frustrated at the governments again.

Vaccines are the way out of this - absolutely agree. I got my vaccines and when I got COVID last week the effects were nowhere near as bad as they could have been. Job done. My family are all positive and again the vaccines are doing their jobs

So, what is locking us down going to do? If vaccines are the way out then why woud I be locked down? The vaccine is protecting me. The vulnerable are vaccinated and boosters given so they are protected. Am I going to be locked down to protect some idiot who is unvaccinated because Facebook said they don't know what is in the vaccine, it was rushed blah blah pash - well if that is the case they can go fvck themselves. I am protected, as is my family, if someone thinks they know better why should my life get put on hold further just to protect them

The vaccine is absolutely the way out of it, and previous infection should also help even more. But think testing is also just as important.

The variant travelling here just shows how pointless vaccine passports are since you need to be vaccinated to travel. If you’re mandating anything to travel/go out then covid testing would be far more effective.

Despite Scotland and Wales persisting with mask wearing since the change in June (?), there is still no scientific evidence base of any benefit and the rates of infection are the same as anywhere else. We also have probably the highest testing rate in the world.

Yet here we are again at default position. Provide some evidence at the very least.
