Arsenal will not win this game. A win will put them in the top 4.
Thats not happening tonight.
United have Ralph Ragnarok and the new manager bounce.
Play poorly and he may summon lightning followed by his hammer.
Should be a comfortable win for United. Ronaldo with a penalty with VAR assistance 2-0
Ramsdale to make a string of fine saves to keep the score down.
The Arsenal midfield and attack in the pocket of Harry Maguire.
Can Arsenal prove me wrong ?

Rangnick isn't yet the manager, but part of the 'new manager bounce' is players striving to show the new guy he ought to pick them, so I hope at least we have the sharpness and determination we saw in the Chelsea and Villarreal games.
In both of Carrick's matches we were much better in terms of defensive shape without being impressive when it came to progressing the ball and pressing back the other team. It will take a lot of patient work to instil a new system that retains the defensive solidity while making us better at breaking down a defence, and I don't think we can expect Carrick to do that in a few days (even if he has the tools to). However, I think he has done well to adapt his selection and the details of the tactics based on the characteristics of the opposition. Against Chelsea he tasked McTominay with dropping back to right-back to counter the threat down their left flank. Against both sides we were far from effervescent in attack but the attacking strategy (speed of Rashford and Sancho on the counter vs Chelsea; bringing on Bruno and Rashford vs Villarreal) did deliver goals. So I hope he comes up with effective bespoke solutions for Arsenal.

As Bollo would say, I got a bad feeling about this.
Same with Sunday, I watched Palace against Leeds and Gallagher, Zaha and Ayew were impressive.
Hope this is just my usual pessimism.

My formative experiences were United in the 80s so I'm programmed to be like Bollo. It's as if the Fergie era never happened.

Ha ha, we support a team that's made one successful managerial appointment in 50 years, we're entitled to go full Bollo

Predictions?
1. Ramsdale to make us look better than we actually are. Ending yet another game with a strong case for MOTM.
2. A goal from someone not named Aubameyang or Lacazette.
The only question is whether United turn up with their shooting boots on.

United will win this.
We are 5th but playing pretty sheet football with no cutting edge.
Don't think we will score a goal as we are one of the worst teams in the league in terms of creativity.
2-0 United

If ole was still in charge I reckon we’d have won relatively comfortable, like a 2-0/2-1. I know the new manager isn’t in charge yet, but you can bet he’s had some input, and theres not much better way to impress him than beat Arsenal. Add in it’s at old Trafford, the fans will be more up for it, and they’ve got players who often seem to score against us. Not trying to sound like it’s a write off for us or anything, but we should be happy to come away with a draw given the circumstances.
I’m hoping we can score early to sap a bit of energy out of Man U and the crowd. If they come out on the front foot get some momentum and get a goal, I think it’ll be a tough challenge for us.
