What’s everyone’s thoughts on this?
We play them on Thursday, needing a win... but do we really want to be in this competition?!!!
If we win, we have to play a two legged decider, to get through to the next round...
This could seriously derail our season, with the build up of matches...
a) Do we play the fringe players again... take a hit & exit the competition?
b) Mix the team up & make 5 sub changes if we are winning?
C) Or go full strength... bearing in mind,the toll this tournament could have on out 1st team, with a busy Xmas schedule coming up... playing every 3 days!!!
Btw... will Rennes play a full strength team, knowing that they are already group winners??
My opinion is that I really don’t want to be in this pathetic tournament... this should be for fringe & youth players... but they’re no where near good enough... do we really want to risk our important players in this!!

Normally I’m one for trophies at all cost but this competition is dog s**. A 3rd rate European competition and whilst if we got too the final, it would be nice, it doesn’t really hold any merit does it ? Would never want too chuck a game but I wouldn’t be that bothered if we didn’t qualify

Exactly, it’s not a proper trophy. Imagine trying to argue the Conference League in your trophy count when talking to an Arsenal fan. You’d get laughed out of town.
I don’t mind winning it, but it means nothing. I’d definitely rest 3/4 players v Rennes.

Look at the bigger for our season. Our squad is thin in quality. Comparing us to City or Chelsea is pie in the sly stuff. I would take a draw on Thursday if it meant we were to be knocked out.

Perhaps we should chalk our Cup Winners Cup success from our history, seeing as that is a third tier European trophy
It baffles me that people demand ENIC out as we've won nothing on the one hand and then promote us giving up on a winnable trophy.
Anyone think this sort of attitude is helpful, or helped us in the past. Redknapp didnt care about the Europa and we had a team that could have won it.
You build a winning team by going out and winning games, not by giving your players a pass on certain competitions. We could be out of the ECL and the Carabao within the next couple weeks and draw Man City in the FA Cup and then you'll all be demanding Levy Out after another trophyless season!
Look at City they win the League cup every season & love it

Yes, but winning this game, with a full strength team, could result in a draw/loss against Brighton. I like to win games too, but some are more important than others.

Our fans are part of the problem, probably the most negative fans in the league. Why don’t we sack every competition off until we reach 40 points and ensure safety. Christ on a bike, the attitude here, not many you would want to be stuck in the trenches with.

Just watched yesterday’s match, that I recorded off Sky..
Kane & Son need to play a half each...no more than that, especially Kane
Bergwijn & NDombele need to start
Not sure if Lo Celso will be fit...
Holjberg was holding his groin yesterday... couldn’t come off, as we’d used 3 subs...
Probably need to bring Moura on at some point( probably half time)

Its weird how its perceived to be beneath us and yet we are struggling to qualify.
