Sale agreed in principle with deadline 2024

A deal to sell the club to the 49ers has been agreed.

Club has been valued at £400m and the sale will include the ground.

Deadline for the deal to be completed is Jan 2024.

No surprises here, hopefully this will be a positive as AR has relatively small funds compared to other owners in the league.

AR will make a massive return on his investment and fair play to him. He’s risked losing a lot of money if we didn’t win promotion and all aspects of the club have improved since his takeover.

I do worry about American ownership. They have a very different sporting culture to ours. And the Super League had a lot of American involvement.

49ers will use their expertise to redevelop the stadium which is great. But please please don’t Americanise it!

I’ve listened to a couple of interviews with Marathe and he does say the right things. He’s aware of the concerns about American owners and reassures us that they will not be like that. However words are often cheap. For now we have to give them the benefit of the doubt and hopefully they back up positive words with solid ownership.

So…. If we go down the 49ers can either renegotiate or walk away.

If we are top six and in Europe Acer can ask for more or walk away.

The price is not fixed by any means.

In that case it all seems to be a waste of everyone's time doesn't it!

Wait?! What?! So I’m a NFL fan. This is massive news.
Massive! Wow.

You are aware of these guys and their dealings?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, in all honesty I can’t. But what I do know about the NFL, and being the one of the few in the camp who don’t mind the Glazers, what I do know is, Money won’t be a problem.
You’re talking about a legendary franchise and it should elevate Leeds.
Could have just as bigger impact than Newcastle.

If they play their hands right. Can’t see no reason.
And I think Players won’t mind living in North Yorkshire.
I mean, just happens to be a beautiful part of the country than say Newcastle.

Now obviously Newcastle have silly money.
And the area may transform, but with Leeds I’m thinking about the investment they’ll make into the team.

People may hate the sport, but NFL owners are serious players.

Not really. It’s agreed in principal so I guess if the status of the club remains as it is then the fee agreed will be about right.

If we get relegated why would they splash £400m on us?

If we get into the CL why would Radz sell us cheaply?

If the price was fixed, as I had assumed. Which is not uncommon.

Then the 49ers wouldn't buy if we were to be relegated. As it is an option with a deadline.

If it turns out we are in the Champions League then Radz would regret agreeing the fee. But that's business.

That's how deals work.

You have shown me further info from Pope that means the deal has more to it than this. But doesn't mean options to buy at a set fee are not uncommon Stoopo.
