On Saturday Wolves will move on from the disappointment of Liverpool’s added time smash and grab win and travel to Manchester to face league champions and current league leaders, Manchester City.

Since returning to the top flight, Wolves’ record against City reads:
P6, W2, L3, D1.
In the 2019/20 season Wolves did the double over City winning the games 2-0 and 3-2 with Adama Traore scoring 3 of the 5 goals. No doubt he will be hoping for something similar in this game but that seems unlikely as he has only scored 2 league goals since his last one against City in December 2019.

Manchester City are currently on a run of 7 wins in all competitions and have only lost 2 league games this season. Only Liverpool and Chelsea have scored more goals than City and no-one has conceded fewer.

The Wolves fans and indeed the manager will be hoping for a similar performance from the players that made Liverpool work so hard for their 3 points on Saturday. However, the performances have been so inconsistent this season that it could just as easily be the half-hearted, lacklustre Wolves team that turn up and suffer a typical Man City mauling.

The game will be broadcast live on BT Sport 1

I hope I'm right in believing there isn't an organised conspiracy against some clubs but I do think there is plenty of unconscious bias in favour of the bigger clubs by some individual referee which needs to be sorted out.

QPR now with a covid outbreak

And Man Utd now apparently have an outbreak this morning. Things are not looking good for footy all of a sudden.

I have to say that if owned a premier league football club I would not be forking out millions of £ per week for players to run around catching Covid-19. I would insist that every player and all coaching staff were fully vaccinated and ensure that they were all taking maximum precautions when away from the club.

That makes complete sense Gem, that's why so many of them don't do it.

The way the omicron variant is spreading now, a football shutdown seems pretty inevitable, just a matter of how soon

I think the government targeting 1 million vaccinations a day between now and the new year gives a good indication how nervous the people with the data are. It's not looking good.

I am bemused by the message that covid passports are needed to get into crowded venues including football matches, to prove we have had two jabs.

Then in the next breath they say two jabs give little protection against omicron so we need a booster

Just as long as you're clear about all the rest of it?

I'm still addressing the "two weeks to flatten the curve" statement on 19th March 2020.
