"Manchester United can confirm that following confirmation of yesterday’s positive Covid-19 cases among the first team staff and players, the decision has been taken to close down first team operations at the Carrington Training Complex for 24 hours, to minimise risk of any further infection.
"Individuals who tested positive are isolating as per Premier League protocols.
"Given cancellation of training and disruption to the squad, and with the health of players and staff the priority, the club is in discussion with the Premier League whether it is safe for Tuesday’s fixture against Brentford to continue, both from a covid infection and player preparation perspective.
"Team and staff travel to London will be deferred pending the result of that discussion."

I kind of agree and kind of don't. I'd like footballers to be role models and set the agenda, but they're just people doing a job, so they've got the same options the rest of us have and that'd have to applied to every profession if it was a rule.
Selfishly, if it stops them playing and me watching then I'd get annoyed..

We fulfilled a fixture that FIFA scheduled us to play in.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We did that too in 2000, and pulled out of the FA Cup. Not sure our different approaches have anything to do with the difference in Villa playing a game with no first teamers due to Covid and us getting one called of with a few out though.
