However because its more contagious more people will end up in hospital and more people will die because much more people in a shorter time frame will get it now. Vaccination is key.

Pretty much this. This is where someone's ability to think outside of themselves is important. On an individual basis, we are less likely to get seriously ill if we catch it. But collectively, as a society, there are likely to be more lost lives as far more people will contract Covid in a short space of time.

I got boosted yesterday and have the old aches and pains today but it's manageable and worth it for added protection.

the ealry indicators in one country at the outset of the evidcne building process for this variant suggested it has less hospitalisations.

that is not enough evidence yet to proclaim what you are proclaiming.

the evidence the real scientists are building up is a pitcure of the R0 rate for this varient and the level of seriousness for the uk population will flow from the data being collected right now and over the next 2-3 weeks. you've said "all data" theres not a complete picture but you have the conclusion you want before the evidence. good for you i suppose.

shouting is a cold tells me a lot about the attitude you are forming.

this is a form of flu, not a cold. there is an article in the guardian where a professor who ought to know states there is no evidence of any virus evolving to become less virulent.

imo the best thing folks can do is ignore this kind or rubbish and get their booster and take the usal sort of precautions to protect themselves and others and hope the anti viral pills are effective.

sadly the anti virals can and will become useless if people take the same attitude we are seeing here.

my biggest hope is the combination of vaccine and anti viral meds prescribed after a PCR confirmation will kill this thing dead in its tracks but when people are willing to wilfully ignore reality I suppose we will be talking this in 5 years time.

Rhinovirus is not deadly, Coronavirus on the other hand is. The only reason at Covid-19 could be similar to a mild Cold, is because of being vaccinated.

Again with the fallacies, I dont know anyone with sniffles, therefor its no worse than a cold. I must have heard about at least 4 people who have died from it in my circles. Why keep denying/ignoring that it is a deadly disease when the facts are there?
