Sorry Els completely disagree.

Even with our first 11 we are weak in midfield. Phillips, Forshaw then its a mixed bag of Dallas, Klich, Rodrigo and Roberts. Dallas seems to be Mr Versatile and hasnt really played much there. The others havent exactly set the world alight either.

One midfield signing would be a great boost. We can't risk our PL future by not signing anyone.

Agree with this and Shaun's comments. I'd probably be looking at loans.with an option to buy but not an Augustine/Costa style must buy.

There's no doubt that January is a tough window but, unfortunately with how depleted we are generally and understrength in midfield especially, as this was not taken care of in the summer we are going to need to use this window.

Also worth remembering that aside from our own needs to bolster the depleted squad, other sides(many around us) will not be standing still and looking to make additions too.

All in all we know it's a tough situation but not nearly as tough as risking relegation by leaving ourselves short and how tough it would be to recover from that.

Not saying we don't need to sign anybody but the management say that transfers in January do not represent good value for money and that they will only be signing someone if they are better than what we have.
Players will be coming back from injury through January and into February, KP predicted to return mid-feb, Cooper and Bamford will return before then.
Obviously the management will want Bielsa to have better options going forward and will be as concerned by the poor results as we are but I sincerely doubt whether any signings will happen.

Els, this statement from the club "January does not represent good value for money" is probably best
thrown out the window right now. They have to do
something. Or risk returning to the lesser value Championship. Even Burnley are planning signings.

We all know signings in January are difficult but if we dont act and end up relegated, we only have ourselves to blame.

Year in/year out people have been saying this, knocking on the door, if we sign somebody we could press for a play-off place, if we don't sign somebody we could slip down to the 1st division blah blah blah, nothing then happens.
