Arsenal v Wolves Match Postponed

Date: Tuesday 28th December
Kick off: 12.30 pm
Venue: Emirates Stadium

Having had their Boxing Day game against Watford postponed due to Watford’s inability to field a team, Wolves will next face Arsenal at the Emirates stadium.

The last 2 meetings between clubs have resulted in wins for Wolves, both with a 2-1 score line. To expect a similar result this time, given Arsenal’s current form, may be a little optimistic.
On Boxing Day Arsenal played bottom of the league Norwich and recorded their 4th win in a row with a 5-0 victory.
Arsenal currently occupy 4th place in the table with 35 points, 12 points behind leaders, Manchester City.

Wolves are clinging on to their 8th place in the table and Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea have all recently discovered how difficult Wolves’ defence is to break down. However, a solid defence alone is not enough and Wolves have to start converting chances into goals if they have ambitions to finish the season in the top half of the table.

Neither Arsenal nor Wolves have had a game postponed due to Covid problems in their own camps so this fixture has a good chance of going ahead.

The game will be shown live on Amazon Prime

Gem’s prediction 1-1

You know a good time to strengthen a squad? When you have just had back to back seventh place finishes.

You know a bad time? When you have just had a dour season and then follow it up with the fewest goals in a calendar year since 1922.

I along with others on here really felt that Vitanha would become a good player, unfortunately the powers that be felt otherwise.

Highlighting again, spending money is only part of the equation.

In the transfer market, it’s quite an important part of the equation though.

absolutely Black country. I am not saying don't spend, just don't expect it. Do the right deals, where possible, but b prepared to walk away from deals too.

Wait a minute? Are you saying we need to spend wisely and not throw money around despite Black Country quite clearly saying that if you look very closely between the lines of his post?

Cinci, I am pointing out how you do it. not arguing the obvious that we need to spend.

You will get it one day Cinci.

Lage has stated in his press conference that he's looking for a cb, winger and a "different" striker. Not sure we need another winger tbh unless of course, one is leaving. Surprised they're not looking at centre midfield too.

Personally I would made an attacking goal scoring midfielder our top priority

Makes you wonder if the winger is already lined up. Seems an odd move but hopefully means Traore is going elsewhere.

I actually do see Traore moving on. Simply because he is not signing a new contract, not because we want to let him go.

Like Spangles I am surprised we are not making a move for a midfielder? but Lage is the guy in charge.

When will you ever learn Amiga, is isn't about what we want, it is about being wise with what we want and when to be wise about what we want and not to be found wanting unless thet is what we want.

Highlighting once again what I have been saying all along, that seeing players move on is only part of the equation.
