Last night was poor. Let's not think any different.
The passing was off, we were bullied a bit in challenges and we just looked like a team that has never really played together before. Basically it was an Ole bad performance type game.
However, and this isn't me making an excuse for them, I'm going to give them a bit of a pass for last night. We don't know exactly how Covid has affected the squad and we don't know how the two weeks of not playing worked for us either.
The pass is only active though as long as we see a response on Thursday. I'd change it up a little and bring in Cavani, Sancho, VDB, Matic and Shaw. We're likely to play against a side sitting deep so our passing and movement needs to be better and I think those listed can provide that.
Let's just see if Ralf's assertion we weren't good enough translate into a much improved performance.
