Well that was unexpected.

I actually considered not going tonight as I was so certain of defeat. It was, perhaps, more sensible to stay in the warmth and watch the inevitable on telly.

But onwards I trudged deciding I should be brave in my support. I did, however, decide I’d probably do an early dart if it got to 0-5.

I was surprised by the penalty save. Pleased to be 0-0 at half time. Ecstatic when Lookman scored and overjoyed at full time.

It’s strange how these kind of results sometimes come around when you least expect them.

Listening in last night very much reminded of the rearguard action at Anfield in the FA Cup in 1969, probably the finest one I can ever recall.

I was glued to a radio set for that one, perspiring intensely and with much hand wringing present. Last night wasn’t too much different but with maybe the odd beads of sweat instead.
