10pts from 12. An okay start.

Fair to say Ralf's had a very favourable fixture list so far but he has gone undefeated and managed to pick up 3 PL wins out of 4 so credit to him for that. Whilst performances in my opinion haven't been much different to what we've been used to it's important to get wins as winning games will hopefully bring some confidence back into many of the team which should lead to performances improving.

Has to be said that Palace H, *Young Boys H*, Norwich A, Newcastle A, Burnley H is about as easy as a start to a United manager job as there is. Tougher tests await.

Next up:

Wolves H
Villa H (FA Cup)
Villa A
*Brentford A or Brighton H* TBC
Westham H

Still not playing any of the big boys but without a doubt a step up in opposition from what we've played under Ralf so far. We will need to be better to beat most of those teams in my opinion.

We should get a good idea about how realistic our top 4 hopes are by the end of this little run.

Murtough is our new Football Director and has been employed by the Glazer to run the club no? Same as Woodward did before him but hopefully to a better level. Fletcher I assumed was hired to give a footballing face and help Murtough and add some level of footballing knowledge to things. He’s also there to bridge the gap between the suits and footballing staff which kind of makes sense but I never thought he had much input in who the team operate as that’s Ralfs job.

Of course I don’t really know but that’s how I assumed it worked.

Murtough doesnt run the club the CEO does

Not sure what Murtough actually does tbh. Read an article the other day saying he's not really a 'football' man and he's going to leave football decisions to likes of Fletcher and Ralf long term.

He's just an extension of Woodward / Arnold really.

Sorry you’re right, I’m getting confused. It’s Arnold who’s taking Woodwards job isn’t it.

Wasn’t Murtough the one who dealt with out transfers in the summer and seemingly did a good job? Other than that I have no idea.

Dull football still, but he's steadied the ship and can hopefully start to make us play a bit better each game. Maybe some tougher games will actually wake us up a bit, we can hope!

Carrick steadied the team, not him. Whatever we are seeing now is absolutely nothing to write home about.
