Ninja Foodi / Instant Pot

Happy new year peeps!

Question, do any of you own either of the above or a different type of air fryer and grill machine etc ?

If so, what are your thoughts on them? Over rated or very good? Thinking about getting one and keep hearing all about them, how easy are they to actually use, and clean, and avoid poisoning yourself (as believe they cook quicker because of a pressure cook?). How easy is it to get the timing right with meat and veg etc? Do they give you manuals, e.g I’m guessing a chicken or steak depending on how you want it would have different timings to the regular oven or grill

Have had a look at some reviews on google/amazon and gives you what I call a good insight but I always prefer getting some real life reviews as you never know what’s a fake / paid review on google etc and what’s not

Cheers

My sister was raving about her air fryer a few months ago, though I'd normally just take that as a sign of it being the latest fad. Haven't heard much about it since, so I suppose novelty's worn off.

Not much to take away from that comment, Oscar, other than the fact that mostly you'll get reviews from people who've only recently bought something and be eager to convince others they haven't wasted their money.

If possible, look out for reviews from people who've owned one of those things for at least a year and are still happy with their purchase and using them regularly.

Yeh this is the main issue I had when trying to scour reviews mate

Although I guess at the same time people are equally more likely to give reviews when it’s negative as well I guess

Short answer is no more than deep fryers with reheated oil, but some interesting stuff in there.

defo bit worrying but to be fair they estimate 1 in 2 of us are going to get cancer in our lives anyway so doubt this really matters too much as everything seemingly is going to cause it if it’s not for one thing it’s something else etc. I smoke as well so I’m pretty much facked anyway

The Ninja foodie is great. Air fryer and pressure cooker in one.

Have you ever cooked a roast in one?? Or a steak?

My missus paid a quid for an Xmas raffle ticket at her nans care home and won a Ninja air fryer. It’s still in the box though so can’t answer your question, but a few people I know that have one say they’re really good. Am sure we’ll get round to testing it out in the new year.

great raffle win and defo let me know, think I’d be similar I’d buy it but then have it in the box for months. Haven’t even opened 2 pairs of trainers I bought over a year ago

Sister in law has one and loves it. Before that she used a halogen cooker thingy.

My wife and I have a microwave that has a convection oven feature. It's great. It's really handy for things like nandos seasoning bags and chicken breasts.

Defo a big fan of them chickens in a bag, I just think the pressure cooker element could be quite good or the quicker vegetable time, apparently you can do vegetables in them super fast

Fine, but you need a big kitchen or plenty of tall and deep storage space as these things are really huge.

That is my review after owning one for over a year.

No, stew yes, and that’s great as it’s got a keep warm feature.

Did salmon in it, that’s good - crisps the skin well.

I bought the Ninja Foodi max for the pressure cooker as I’ve already got an Air fryer, it does cook veg within minutes the only down side is it takes ages for the pressure to build. I use it every day, my first air fryer is now in the shed.
