Up until now, i genuinely had believed that we were the right managerial appointment away from challenging for a title / European cup again, but I now have to concede that with this squad, for the foreseeable future, we are little more than competing for top 4 along with Leicester, Spurs, Arsenal and West Ham.
We have spent an absolute fortune over the last 8 years, assembling a big, unbalanced, average squad of players, and simply cannot hope to continue spending in such a way with such little in return.
I also cant think of 1 man we could realistically appoint who could come in and improve us to the extent required to challenge.
The execs at the club pretty much remain the same so there is nothing really to suggest anything significant will change in terms of decision making at that level either.
Like i say, i have decided to downgrade my expextations of the club for the foreseeable future and suggest 1 or 2 on here do the same.
Should we lower our expectations ?

Can’t see anyone winning major honours with the current squad. If Pep or Klopp came in they’re 100% changing the midfield and full backs as a first point of call.

Until we actually resolve the midfield days like today are just going to keep happening we have no platform in games to build from even against relegation teams, our full back options are not good but midfield is the worst in living memory.

He'd do the same as Ralf is now, conservative football and hoping for magic moments to pick up points. He's not in it for long term building.
Ralf is looking like a mistake but at least he doesn't have a 3 year contract.
