Perspective

Since Ralf has taken over for us we've had games coming thick and fast with covid etc in between. Most of his time has been about prepping for a game. This is the first time he will have a week of working with the players. Just seen this and thought I would post as it really puts things into perspective and why we haven't seen any changes in our play, team etc

Made official on the 2nd, game on the 5th. 1 day of recuperation/rest, 1 day of training, game on the 8th. R&R, one day of training, game on the 11th. Covid outbreak, players return to training on the 23/24th but are training in split groups. Day off for the 25th, one day of training, match on the 27th. 1 day for R&R, one day of training and a match on the 30th. R&R, two days of training and then Wolves on the 3rd.

That's what 6 days of training?

Excuses would also work as the title

How is it excuses?

The timeline is spot on. Tye only qeguable thing would be if it was 6 days or 7, 8 at a big stretch. Negligible in the scheme of things.

When you bring someone in to change a dynamic can you really judge it on such a little amount of time? Surely lfc would be the first to acknowledge it takes time?

A full week to analyse, prepare and train. Let's hope there's something in your OP and we see a reaction v Villa. To be fair it has been a disjointed welcome for Ralf and he certainly needs more time.

There are all sorts of "leaks" apparently in the press about players wanting out or not happy etc. Could all be true and Ralf maybe chit.

However I wanted to just highlight the "fachts" and put things into perspective. With covid and the run of games it's really not been a huge amount of time between manager and team at all.

I mean day after games is rest day. Players of prem teams are not even allowed to play golf etc the day after games. So you wouldn't see them on a training field adjusting to a new system anyway. Throw in closed training ground and covid and the time has been severely limited. May even explain why Ralf has played certain players and rested others. Simply needs to evaluate the players at hand.

For me come Burnley in Feb if things are no different then it's worrying but we need to cut Ralf and the team some slack. A whole week of training should show some difference.

The lack of training time is something I’ve mentioned. It’s why I said the other day I wouldn’t mind if we went out of the FA Cup, so we can get more time on the training pitch to try and get some more cohesiveness into the team.

You are using the timeline as an excuse.

I agree the conditions have been difficult but performances are getting worse, there should have been some uptick.

Reports are the players don't like the tactics and his authority with only 6 months is questionable. I thought authority would be the big issue when this was announced so really would not be surprised if that comes to the fore.

Nah, OP is right. He has had hardly any time to work with them. All the rest is gossip.

I can’t see us improving anytime soon!

The most of the players look disinterested and disorganised,

Ralf has his work cut out as will the next manager with this group of players plus we’ve got to a point where it’s getting harder to attract the right type of player!

Seemed to get it in some sense for 20 minutes against Norwich. Are they all still tired from that?
