The Adama Traore story seems to be hotting up now and gaining quite a bit of traction, even the BBC reported on yesterday. I don’t know what to make of this to be honest, £20M in today’s market seems like a good price for an established Premier League player, but the guys’ stats with regards to his end product are shocking and I don’t know what he’s gonna offer to us. I’m just really open to hearing what people’s views are on him and how he might upgrade the team, just so I can have a reason to get excited about this. We’ve had our fair share of headless chicken mazy dribblers in the past in the form of Jose Domingues, Timothy Atouba, and the South Korean full back we had during the Jol years. Is this guy going to be any different. Doesn’t seem like a priority signing to me, but open to being told otherwise, as, like I said, I would like to have reasons to get excited about this.

Oh please sign him....there isn't nearly enough at Spurs to laugh about currently...

Being an absolute wedge is generally not a great build for players otherwise you'd see more players like that. With him it's probably quite natural and suits him but it's not particularly relevant to footballing ability.
He probably could do with a move and it might well see him improve but it's a big risk for Spurs. By all accounts he's just not that good and if you're aiming to compete at the top a 25 year old RB who bar his unusual body type hasn't made any headlines for most of his career seems an unnecessary risk.

NEW: FC Barcelona have started work on a deal to sign Adama Traoré as a replacement for Ousmane Dembélé. The winger is willing to return to Barça. However, they face competition from #thfc. | @sport https://t.co/AEKzF8C9oQ

I don't think he's great cause his stats are so poor overall and you only need to use your eyes to see his end product is a let down. If I am going to try and take some positive out of this then one of his seasons at Wolves his stats weren't too bad (I think he got like 9 assists), and he is a PL player already which means he's used to the league and won't need to go through as much of a settling in period as many of our foreign signings.
If we go for him fine, not like there's anything I or anyone can do about it. I would hope he's who Conte wants and that he can prove me wrong.

He is arguably the most press resistant player in the league, you can close him down but he is likely to just bull doze right through the press. That makes him a great out ball and if you can keep team mates within 10 yards of him then it can lead to chances.
As a wing back he will be a nightmare for an opposition player to try to beat, he will be stronger, faster and bigger than any winger in the league. Great defensive option.

What a player he would be if he could shoot or pass. It's great to watch him run past players as they bounce off him but ultimately what does that give you? Release from pressure for a while? That's great when you're a midtable team under bombardment from the bigger teams but what does it actually give you when you're supposed to be the team controlling the game? You just sense the frustration when he sees more of the ball as he's in the team dominating possession but pings it out for a goalkick every time.
