Put some respect on Winks’ name

Don't get carried away. He is a squad player at best.

I'm obviously pleased that he's found some form but he should always be on rotation behind better players. He's a good squad player. He can give players a rest and can be used in games where we are expected to dominate. He gets turned over far to easily when teams are at us to be fist pick.

When on his game he's a real asset, looks forward and passes it forward, and he is a far better passer than Skipp or PEH. He should start ahead of one of these IMO because it is the lack of creativity that hampers us.

When he's not on his game he's all backwards and sideways, but tbf i am a bit sick of watching PEH trying to thread balls through / over the top and losing possession. He's attempting things beyond his skillset and it doesn't work. I would like to see Winks join one of Skipp/PEH in the midfield vs Chelsea.

I really enjoyed the Sandy hiatus. Ironic that he posts ill-considered polarised views, designed for impact, like an attention seeking child when he's, apparently, a more mature fellow who you'd expect to display more wisdom & considered thought.

100 per cent correct. Anyone who thinks Spurs are going places with Winks back in the first XI needs to give their head a wobble. Only idiots like Ted and Sizzle rate such bog standard players like Winks.

I am giving an opinion fella. If you think that is not allowed then what`s the point of the forum? That was garbage yesterday, and Winks is a very average footballer, and it needs calling out. Absolutely nothing to do with having a polarised view. That is my truely considered view of the state of play currently going on at WHL. About a dozen players simply not good enough for the shirt as it stands.

I do wish supporters would not keep calling out others that actually get to the point, rather than keep agreeing with each other, just to get a few brownie points.

Was on my 'to sell' list but since Conte's arrival he has played well and has proven me wrong to an extent

Would keep as a squad player. Homegrown too

Oh do me a favour, a couple of half decent games to save his Spurs career. Spurs will never progress if players like Winks are going to be regulars. He is as bog average as they come, and will soon revert to type.

if you don't think a manager can improve a player you're the idiot most people say you are. the more solid your squad players are the more your team improves. no one thinks winks should be in the first 11 but you want to get rid of the whole team and have two first 11's. you said as much in your article.
also a game with wholesale changes is no way to judge how a player might preform coming into a normal game.

Another good game for Winks last night
