On Saturday, Wolves welcome Southampton to Molineux for their second league game of the 2022 campaign.
Wolves followed their 1-0 Old Trafford win with a comfortable 3-0 win against Sheffield United in their FA Cup clash on Sunday.

Southampton also come into the game on the back of a 3-2 win having knocked Swansea City out of the FA Cup on Saturday in a behind closed doors game thanks to the Covid restrictions in force in Wales.

In the reverse fixture at St Marys back in September, Wolves ran out 1-0 winners thanks to a goal from Raul Jimenez, his first after returning from his serious head injury.

Wolves currently occupy 8th place in the league table with 28 points whilst Southampton sit in 14th place with 7 points fewer.

Gem’s prediction: 2-0

Stories in the press that Chiquinho is signed as Traore’s replacement and that his sale to Spurs will soon go through. Let’s wait and see on that but if it’s true I hope we get a good fee
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hope we don't leave it until the last minute, we still need that attacking midfielder.

I've a soft spot for empoli having spent 6 months there back in 98
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh really? So you have Neapolitan roots right? I forget. Why were you in Empoli and where the feck is Empoli, a small time presumably.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry dude I nodded off... yeah so my lot are from Forcella in Naples... half moved to the UK, the others moved north... Empoli is in Tuscany and about an hours drive out from Florence.. my cousins husband has a printing firm there that do all kinds of stuff for the airport in PIsa, so I spent 6 months bookkeeping for him

Empoli’s second goal last night went down as an own goal by the Inter keeper not a Cutrone goal. So he’s still on 2 for the season. Not sure how that translates to a good season for a centre forward. He’s their 5th highest scorer this season
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ah, so stats don't tell us everything but Cutrone heading the ball off the bar and hitting the keeper before it goes in doesn't deserve any mention.

He has had a good loan because he has featured consistently and is clearly considered important to the team.

'Bookkeeping' for a 'printing' firm in Italy.

Remember when that Traore shot hit the bar and went in off the keeper? Spangles spent months telling us that stats don't tell the full story.

Cutrone has a similar occurrence and stats are now clearly important. You have to love the tail chasing that occurs on here sometimes.
