Haha why not, I still enjoy it and would watch Spurs if they were playing a Sunday league side - that’s what a real fan does. I am allowed to have a say about the overall quality of the league though.

Top 3 going for the title

next 5 fighting for 4th place.

That does not say that the quality is low to me. Overall i would say the quality is higher. More better teams so that the likes of Brighton Villa Wolves dont just roll over and take it from the bigger teams, same for Palace & Brentford. The quality goes deeper down the league than it used to.

Overall i would say that Spurs Arsenal and United are in a bit of a transition and under performing, and Everton are woeful. If these teams upped their games a bit then we'd be looking at one of the most competitive and strongest leagues of all time.

currently yes, they are off their best, but that does not make the league weak.

The top 3 are superb.

Ask yourself who what league has three teams of that quality at the top.

Liverpool thrashed the current La Liga Champions, while Madrid & Barca are way off their best, Barca now in Europa and mid-table

PSG are a one team league and despite their glittering stars, they aint all that.

Bayern are strong but no one else really comes close. Even Dortmund exited the UCL losing to Ajax & Sporting

Inter are decent, while not being upper level, but Milan Napoli and Atalanta aint all that.

The standard of football in general is not massively high at the moment outwith a few clubs (probably Man City and Ajax and sometimes Liverpool). The problem is short termism and player greed. Most teams are just made up of a bunch of expensive blokes with a manager who is there for less than 6 months. Then the process just repeats.

If the PL isn't the strongest when you've taken all of the oil money from around the world via murdering and pumped it into the best foreign managers and players from around the world, then there is something seriously wrong. Not sure how praiseworthy that is.

I don’t care about other leagues and never meant it as a comparison. I just think outside the top 3 it is the weakest I can remember. I have said from the outset that the top 3 are among the best 5 sides in Europe (and let’s face it, the world) but the quality then falls off a cliff edge

Your assessment - that places 4-7 as average - is hardly representative of the strength of the league overall.

You have already acknowledged that the top 3 are a class apart and really they are 3 of the best 5 sides in Europe.

The PL from about 4th to about 13th is pretty competitive with all those teams capable of taking points from each other and indeed from the top 3.

Utd and Arsenal were in transition after SAF and Kid Lover. Klopp was just getting started at Liverpool as was Pep at City.

There is a vast difference between competiveness and quality. Park and pub teams can be competitive, doesn`t mean they have much quality.
