Rapha - International Duty

Rapha away with Brazil for World Cup Qualifiers January and February.

( He was always going to get selected )

Also probably Mar/Apr as Brazil have 4 games left.

How do we work around that - ideas welcome.

It is an international break. What do you mean, work around it?

We will start with Harrison and James on the wings

Bamford, hopefully, upfront

And in the centre Forshaw, Dallas and Klitch.

James is starting to come into his own recently and hopefully Harrison will get back to his best form

Get your point D but I seem to remember he went off the boil after the last international duty and am assuming fixtures all in South America.

Raphinha hasn't been firing recently, which is a bit odd. Lots of misplaced passes, that shocker of a miss, and generally not finding it easy. Maybe contract talks and speculation have been distracting him?

Jury is still out for me on James. He's fast, but he's a bit of a headless chicken.

Think Harrison has been missing Alioski. Firpo has been looking a bit more up for it recently and hopefully Harrison will start to click with him.

We've missed Bamford - but we've not missed Rodrigo so much. It's a shame because like Bamford, he's a very intelligent player.

Hammers could be tired after beating Norwich? Let's hope we can get at them a bit more this weekend!

Yes seen a few comments on here noticing the slight dip in performance ( but not when taking a pen)

I keep wondering if he is slightly out of focus due to Brazil and possible move to a Champions League outfit?

Point taken, but wasn't there talk of playing postponed games during the International Break?

The main issue for any winger we have is that they no striker to aim for!

Bamford being back should make a huge difference!

Yeah, but a lot of teams will miss a lot of players due to the internationals (for instance Arsenal will be down 8) so won't play, I think it is only going to be teams not really affected.

Outwood's observation is very important. I remember watching an interview with Big Brained Bamford. He was asked something along the lines of how have you developed your understanding with Raphina so
quickly? And BBB replied, we communicate in French.

Massive.

Bamford is not only crucial for the team (I didn't always believe that),
he's crucial to getting the best out of Raph and the two of them together.

Fingers crossed.
