Not going our way so far……
Obviously we have our destiny in our own hands but some interesting fixtures ahead near us
Norwich 2-0 against Everton
Newcastle beating Watford
Watford got Norwich next and we have Newcastle.

Newcastle starting Wood and Trippier immediately.
Digne starting for Villa, Coutinho on the bench. If we
do sign anyone, I hope we don't fuq about delaying
their inclusion. Need urgency. Not perfection.

Still trying to look up.
A win tomorrow puts us on fringe of 11th place.
Not impossible. We gave them a good game last week and in theory we should be a little stronger plus they’ve played midweek

Everton looking like a league 1 team at the moment

Trippier and Coutinho are both excellent signings.
And both blow away the bull sh* t notion that January
is balls for signing players. If you have the will, means, and gumption to pull it off, deals can make you better.

Dead right, Batty. Coutinho changed the game rigt away. A goal and an assist in 30 minutes. Not a bad start. He looks like a steal.

If I was a Villa fan I'd bloody expect him to change the game straight away. Reported to be paying 65% of his wages. I'd reckon that's close to 200k, if not more.
I'd imagine that January is an easier month to operate in when you have money to burn, like Villa and Newcastle.

Coutinho is being paid £250k by Aston Villa, he was on £380k at Barcelona!!!
I don’t think that the 3 signings of Trippier, Digne and Coutinho prove anything. They were all players that were made available because they weren’t wanted or were desperate to come home. Which is exactly what people say about January. You can only get the players that the clubs want out.
With all the money that Newcastle have they are getting rejected left right and centre.
Villa’s owner said himself these were opportunistic deals. They became available so they bought them. I’m not sure that’s the best strategy long term.

If you have the will, means...
^^^^^
Last word was crucial in my post. I know we aren't minted. My comment is more about the fact that things
can be done, if you have the will, MEANS (funds).
I'm a fan of the Athletic's 'Sensible Transfers' series.
We are defo in that boat. If we can land one player,
he will surely help us off the bat, if allowed.
