Graveyard for attackers

What is it with forwards/strikers and Chelsea? Over the years we've spent fortunes of attackers from all over the world who come with big stats and bigger price tags but very few really ever reach the sorts of levels they do pre Chelsea. There is exceptions obviously, but even with the recent crop of signings non really make me think they're going to be the one to bag us 10/20 goals a season and make us a genuine title challenger. At this point I've seen enough of pulisic, ziyech, werner and lukaku to know they're not it and we need to be looking elsewhere. Hopefully TT can be the manager to bring some top attacking talent to chelsea although I've no idea who.

Chelsea did try for Lewandonski. After that Lukaku seemed like the right option. In fairness to Lukaku he has missed a chunk of games this season and in 70% of the ones he has played in he has done well. He has just never done it agst the very best. He gives us diversity in attack, so for me it was the right decision to buy him.

Lukaku struggled at United as well, he is just better suited to Italy.

Torres - every man and his dog could see he was nearing the end when you guys bought him.

Costa was great, just a massive ego that is difficult to control

Werner - the warning signs were there pre buying him - he was poor for the German National side and other than pace has no real outstanding attributes

Morata - I don’t rate him at all

Half your problem is constantly buying players that are not Prem tested, so you will have a fairly high failure rate. Someone like Watkins would outperform Werner at Chelsea, I’m surprised your not moving for him or similar
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's pretty much it.

Chelsea keep signing unsuitable attackers. The only one you couldn't spot easily as a potential flop was Werner (out of the flops, Costa was good although a nutcase)

Torres was terrible for ages before he left Liverpool and Lukaku while usually a decent enough flat track bully seemed a poor option considering there were other decent strikers around with less baggage and potentially higher ceilings.

Whether he'd have gone or not Chelsea should've been all in for Haaland to test those waters.

Haalans is unobtainable from a Chelsea perspective because of his agent. Chelsea hate him and vice versa
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Plus Real, City and Liverpool are all bigger draws for him

That’s a speculative view that may or may not be valid.

FFS, Chelsea couldn't spot a decent attacking player even if he was already at the club.

Look at De Bruyne & Salah for proof, luckily they were sold before Chelsea destroyed them.

Shearer did an excellent analyses on MOTD about Chelsea's attacking players and our wing backs.so many eames of when we could and should have played Lukaku in much earlier. He got a very poor service yesterday and he combined that with just giving the ball away too many times with his back to goal.

The whole Chelsea attack was awful including Lukkaku.

Others have summed it up well. Chelsea always seem to sign strikers when they are on a downward curve. Should be looking to invest in young ones that can improve. Haaland the obvious one but with the money you’ve spent on Lukaku, Havertz, Werner can you afford to splash out again in that position.
