Eriksen return?

What's everyone's thoughts on a possible Eriksen return to Spurs? Personally I think it's an absolute no brainer. He's kept himself reasonably fit, all things considered, so it would just be a case of getting match sharpness. He already understands the Conte way too.

When you factor in that it looks like we're trying to shift Ndombele who, for all his faults, still represents probably the only creative player in our squad and he's failed in his attempts to replace the one man who's beginning to look irreplaceable, Eriksen. I mean, it's a bit like when we finally replaced Bale with Bale. Just get the same guy back again.

I know he was a sub mostly at Inter so it might suggest Conte just doesn't fancy him (or, more likely, he prefers his creativity to come from the wide areas rather than a traditional number 10) but from what I'm seeing it's a lack of creativity we're suffering from. If we don't have much money then why not take a punt on a player that won't cost a thing beyond wages.

To hear that Brentford are in for him is just insulting. If we don't act, he might want to go there, largely for the Danish link.

In his last season he downed tools. Good luck to him wherever he ends up.

Defoe needs a club and he's only 39.

Or we could sell Kane to City, let him flop and then bring him back in a couple of years time.

We've been all over this Eriksen question before.
It is old hat.
But for the uninitiated............
Eriksen will never play competitive professional football again.
He is walking around with an implanted heart defibrillator.
The insurance to put him out on the pitch would be astronomical.
No club could afford it. End Of.

nope. not on a footballing level, but on a personal level. we never seem to be far away from heart related problems and tragedy, and he is a young guy with a family.... i can just see it all going horribly wrong. it wouldnt sit easy with me, and it would be at the back of everyones mind.

That's not of yours or anyone's concern but him, his family and his doctors. They've all given him the green light to play. He's had a device fitted to avoid this issue cropping up again. It's less of a risk than someone like Aguero who can't be fitted with any such technology as the issue is different. Not sure what you mean by us being close to heart related issues. If you mean Glenn Hoddle or that bloke in the stands the other day then that's a bizarre tenuous link.

You are right it’s not my concern, but the question was what are my thoughts on it, and the above are my thoughts on it

Similar to me. Obviously wish Eriksen all the very best whatever he does, but personally I feel a touch uncomfortable at times even watching Daley Blind.

Nope. You’re absolutely right. Why would I listen to the experts nailing him on for a return to the top flight with Brentford amongst other candidates when I could just listen to wise old Ted instead?! How foolish of me.

No you would not.
You're talking about the Eriksen of 3 years ago....not the Eriksen of NOW!
