Lamela wins Puskas

Sadly Lamela`s Rabona`s are about the only thing of note he ever did at Tottenham. Another player that promised a lot, and delivered very little. Spurs have a whole squad littered with players similar to Lamela.

Yes he ran about a lot, but never really produced it, like a lot of Spurs players, when it really mattered. One of the reasons Spurs have not won anything for years. A lot of Spurs fans get carried away with players that have one half decent game in 10. Recent examples are the Winks love in.

Spurs need players that consistently have 7 or 8/10 every match, instead of players that consistently have 4 or 5 out of 10 most matches. And therein lies the problem with the present bunch of players.

If NDombele had Lamela's attitude then he'd be a great player. But NDombele doesnt care so he never will be, while Lamela cared huge amounts and was always totally committed.

Give me this sort of player over the likes of NDombele any day of the week.

Bought him as the next Ronaldo didn’t we?
Barely saw him some seasons, the weird rumours
In the end he was loved more for his sh|thousery than his wizardry.

I know what you are saying Sandy but I’d argue that Lamela was always a solid 7 out of 10 player

Problem was he didn’t get on the pitch enough

Even if he didn’t produce goals and assists I always felt he galvanised the team with his pressing …..I’d hate to play against him ….was one of those players who just wouldn’t stop niggling at you

Every team needs a player like him ….united when dominating always did under Fergie ….fletcher for example and Nicky butt

Due to their work ethic on the pitch other players then match that effort

Just a shame with injuries for Lamela with us
