I'm pretty certain he will be gone soon, he's been found out.
Not Liz Truss I hope, or Raab, or Patel.
Think, there must be somebody.
After Boris who?

If Labour want to win the next election then they need to appoint Andy Burnham as leader.
Maybe David Milliband at a push.

It doesn't really matter too much. If the Tories are able to give the impression they're even remotely competent they'll likely win because the UK voting majority are braindead.
At the moment obviously the Tories aren't even able to pretend, that's how much of a clown show they are.

I think Labour pretty much knew they were out of the running for a few years, starting with Ed Milliband as leader.
Reason I say this I because I was working for local govt at the time and I saw some of the "future stars" basically leave the party or even politics.
Obviously I can't say 100% that they would have come to prominence but likes of Tristam Hunt were seen as future party leaders and he looks after museums or something now. And even likes of Chukka Amunna were seen as potential for being key players at some point (although I don't think he believed he would be PM)

This.
I think Burnham has been waiting in the wings for a while now to return to national politics. This could be his time as Starmer isnt making much progress with the electorate despite everything falling nicely at his feet over the last couple of years
Meanwhile G Nev can make his move for Mayor of Manc.

I think this is one of the reasons why the country is in such a mess. Voters seem to be preoccupied with persona rather than policy.
The conservatives have been very successful in generating meaningless slogans, which the British public seem to like.
Even in the run up to Corbyn's downfall, Labour had put forward *some* thought provoking and (on the face of it) sensible policies. They were resoundingly rejected by the British public in favour of a policy light/slogan heavy Conservative party.

It’s probably better for Labour voters if Johnson stays
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Without a doubt, I reckon if Rishi got the top job the Tories would pick up 15 points immediately.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe United should sign him?

Boris infact reminds me of Ole at the end of his tenure, when fans of all clubs except Man United wanted him to stay. I think deep down Labour wants Boris to run the next GE

The impression I got from chukka Amunna whilst at labour was the country wasn't ready for a non white PM.
Is it any different now for those saying/thinking it could be Rishi?

Whilst I am sure that most Conservative MPs would have no problem electing a non-white party leader, to be brutally honest and sadly, there are just too many racists up and down the country currently aligned to the rightwing of the Tory party who will probably see Sunak and Patel as unacceptable candidates as a leader of the Con Party never mind a British Prime Minister.

Oh I don't know, I'm of a generation who would be thought of to have racist views, but I can honestly say it wouldn't bother me a
toss. Barack Obama would be fine for me. But not Rishi or Patel at any price
