Paratici

There were some comments here and on places like Twitter again about whether Conte will stay at the club beyond the summer. I think a lot of that is ridiculous, and if we get CL football I see no way how he doesn’t stay. Even if we don’t, I think he will be here until at least the end of next season.

Having said that, I’d be more worried about the long-term relationship between the new DoF Fabio Paratici and Levy. If you go through his record at Juve, then this is a guy used to getting deals done quickly, operating across all segments of the market, and from most of the stuff I’ve read he seemed to have quite a bit of independence to do his own things and manage player recruitment how he saw fit.

Absolutely none of that is true at Spurs and I doubt it ever will be. Three weeks into this transfer window and we are still haggling over the price of Traore. He can’t be happy with that, and over time his frustrations are only going to grow make his position at the club more difficult.

I'm very unimpressed with him so far. Gil was a ridiculous signing for the money, Emerson has been poor. Gollini beyond awful. Still no back up striker. Romero the only one who has shown potential. He seemed a key player in the manager debacle.

His only attribute so far is being mates with Conte. Admittedly this probably makes up for all his failures so far, but I have little confidence in him getting the players we need.

Yeah. He’s only had one full window with us so far, but it was a distinctly underwhelming one.

Totally agree, not 1 of his signings have come in and made an impact have they ? I don’t care if Gil is young. You pay 25 mil for this guy and swap him for Lamela, I expect a lot f** more for him. There is even talk of loaning him out, absolutely ridiculous. Gollini utter s**. Emerson looks like a rabbit caught in the headlights. Romero the only potential excellent signing, but he’s been injured 85% of the time. S** recruitment so far as per usual and he was supposed to change that

Michael Olise cost Palace around £10m. More than half the price of Gil. We should have been all over him. When Titty was hired I reckon he dismissed the lower leagues and instead went for the more exotic signings like Gil and Sarr because they played abroad.

I really hope we buy some talent from the championship and give them a chance instead.

Spurs take ages to conclude a deal... it’s so frustrating... I can only assume it’s down to Levy’s obsession for getting deals as cheap as possible.... even if it means losing out on the player

Other clubs get deals done so much quicker... just look at Villa... how quick & easy did they get Coutinho & Digne deals concluded!!

Yep, it's got to be down to Levy. Whether he's putting numerous clauses in contracts or trying to penny pinch, he is bound to be the main reason signings drag or stall. We know what he's like, it's no secret.

Gil was clearly bought the future. Patience lads.

The one in one out policy is what we struggle with.

I know we have to look at finances, but if Conte wants someone, get him. Then worry about getting rid of whoever we need to move on.

That’s fair enough but this was a transfer window we needed more than just up and coming young players and in that regard Paratici completely failed to deliver.
