...reputedly, for something like £30m.
I don't watch much French football but both Ligue 1 fans and analytics geeks have been raving about him for months. A defensive midfielder who excels at keeping and progressing the ball, and good physical attributes. I have a feeling we'll look back at this with that familiar mixture of disbelief and fury as yet another midfielder who would have immediately elevated our team goes to a rival for a very affordable price.
Did someone at United do a deal with the devil that meant never improving our midfield again, circa 2007?

I reckon we are keeping our powder dry to get Rice and Bellingham over the next couple of years.

We may well have better targets but we damned well better secure them.
It would be ironic if we missed out on the elite midfielders we want because we failed to get CL football because we lacked quality midfielders.

It’s not unlikely.
We don’t do January signings, though. And given we don’t have a permanent manager and we’ve only just brought in a new CEO, it’s hardly surprising we aren’t doing anything in the transfer market.
We’ve got Pogba coming back anyway which will be ‘like a new signing’.

Then again if we don't get top four then maybe there's a possibility CR Kelly leaves in the summer so every cloud RR.

Yeah that’s another thing that could impact our transfer business this summer.

I have it on good authority that Poch’s first signing for us will be Yves Bissouma. Don’t shoot the messenger.

We should pair him in midfield with Rice. We could call them Biryani.

That was a really annoying song but I feel Alanis got unfair stick for the 'not understanding irony' thing. She was referencing situational irony and her examples were reasonable, if somewhat unimaginative (and, in the case of the ten thousand spoons, kind of far fetched).

Maybe in some cases but meeting the man of your dreams and then meeting his beautiful wife isn't even situational irony.

Not if there's a back-story where the narrator was a high school jock who bullied the future beautiful wife 10 years earlier.
