Wilshere’s contract at Arsenal wasn’t extended by Arsenal, while Ramsey turned down the Arsenal contract extension to join one of the biggest clubs in the world on one of the biggest salary’s in the world.

So aye a similarity in that they both played for Arsenal

Ramsey didn’t turn down any Arsenal contract, it was infamously withdrawn when Ramsey looked set to sign, definitely one of our better bits of business over the last few years. Ramsey is awful, unfortunately. One of his main strengths was his running and stamina but injuries have ruined that.

Because of that, he doesn’t really have a position on the pitch. If you play him CM, he won’t make those late runs into the box, instead he’ll just vacate the midfield and wait in the box. Play him further forward as a 10 or supporting forwards and he puts no defensive shift in at all.

Then there’s the problem that he’s always injured.

He’s basically just a luxury player which is probably why he’s chosen Rangers who can afford to carry him in such a mediocre league.

He’s on loan for 6 months. And the season ends in 3. Not sure how that works out but hey ho.

Unless Rangers find the extraordinary sums of money to pay him anything remotely close to what he was earning then that’s all it will be.

Huge punt for the club.

A lot can change in just a few months. Even after tonight people will be calling the league one way or another.

We won't be getting him beyond the loan deal and I did put in the caveat about him being the next Kranjcar, but if he does manage to play a fair amount of games I think he'll make a huge difference.
